We LOVE THIS SCHOOL and community!!! We have been in three private schools with our kids and by far this place is a hidden gem!!! I've seen first hand that they do not teach to the norm. If you have a child that is ready to take on the world they will help support that and if you have a child that is having challenges they also have the teacher support to guide them. Our child comes home everyday in LOVE with the school and passionate about learning! Thank you Sacred Heart for this incredible life long gift!!!

Sacred Heart School has been a blessing to our family. Each of my children are thriving there, and they are quite different from one another. They are receiving a comprehensive education that will prepare them for any high school in the area. The teachers are truly dedicated. One of my children has a medical condition. The teachers and staff at Sacred Heart have been so eager to help him and meet his needs. I feel very fortunate to be part of this community.

Our children have received a wonderful, nurturing education at Sacred Heart School. Academically and spiritually, they are well prepared for the world. We love the traditions at SHS, from the primary grades' All Saints Pageant, to the 4th grade Culture Fair, to the 5th grade Passion Play during Lent, to the 6th grade Peacemakers Museum, the 7th grade Living Stations of the Cross and the 8th grade Congressional Hearings, to name just a few. We love the way faith plays a central role in the school culture. Every classroom has a crucifix and most of the classrooms have a beautiful statue of Mary or other devotional pieces to guide and help students remember their faith in all that they do. We love the strong administration and the well-trained teachers. There is on-going and forward-thinking teacher development at this school. We would recommend this school to anyone who values an academically strong, spiritually vibrant atmosphere where children can grow and learn to their full potential.

We were members of this school for 6 years. We sent three of our children there with the expectation we would continue through 8th grade. We gave our hearts and souls to the school. The first four years were fabulous- cannot say enough about the elementary teachers. However, as the children progress, the program becomes MUCH weaker . The most difficult aspect (especially being a Catholic school) is the school's complete disregard and tolerance of full on bullying. Students who bully (both verbally & physically) are never disciplined, never sent home- especially if their parents happen to donate generously to fundraising efforts. Students from other schools who have shown prior poor behavior , are admitted to Sacred Heart, and exhibit the same nasty (emotional bullying as it relates to " mean" girls in particular,) and the administration does nothing. It is pushed under the carpet and ignored. The school's enrollment has significantly declined in the past few years- kindergarten being half as it should. Many teachers hours have been cut who subsequently left including a librarian and a reading specialist). The schools' main priority is now strictly money. NOT at ALL the wonderful nurturing school it was when we began in the fall of 2010. SHS's priorities lie with money, not children. If care and true concern for children's well being, satisfaction and knowledge that bullying is properly handled, rethink your choice. Also, ask, ask about curriculum changes- they change like the tides here ( for example Singapore Math being introduced with completely inadequate teacher training.) This method must be taught properly as it is far from conventional. Lastly, the " Heart" that used to exist has been replaced by an incompassionate greed that revolves around dollars far more than a child's well being. After 6 years of dedication, being a community coordinator for many years, a buddy family to many new families, being a huge advocate for the school, along with countless ways we have contributed, we find this very sad indeed. Proceed with extreme caution, ask questions and be beware.
