Amazing! I just graduated my oldest of 3 kids. He has been at the school since 3 years old, as have his younger siblings. We can't imaging any other place to send them. This school is their second home and community.

I have three children currently enrolled at the Jewish Day School and I couldn't be happier. I feel the curriculum is challenging and fun and the teachers are more interested in helping my girls grow as people rather than just filling out a grade sheet. The staff is very attentive to each of my daughters individual needs and the communication each week is both personal and informative. My children each have different styles of learning and the faculty takes the time to focus on each one in a way that creates a comprehensive, enriched learning experience. My wife and I love and support this school and can't wait to see my girls grow into confident, enthusiastic, amazing people, with JDS to thank for it.

I have three very different children at JDS. Their experiences have been amazing. JDS prepares kids for their next stages in life. They focus on the whole kid and not just the education. The inquiry learning has enhanced their creativity and reflection. They will forever be changed by the values instilled in them and the teachers who have touched their lives. It has been an amazing experience to watch them group up in the this community.

We have been extremely pleased with our 6yrs at JDS. Great decision for our older child (now in 5th since K) and now proving same for our 2nd in K. The teachers are very special, the sincere atmosphere, the comprehensive curriculum, everything has really been outstanding. We have been over the moon impressed this year specifically with Teacher Randi's connection with the kids and her 5th grade math and writing workshops. Math has been fun and challenging and sneaky - the kids do not realize how much they are learning through the real world games and challenges. The depth of writing skills the kids are experiencing is truly at or above typical HS levels/expectations but at 5th grade comfort. The narrative that came home recently was better after each week's editing and elaboration and could easily rivaled anything written by a sophisticated high school or college student. On top of this, we are seeing our daughter develop as a person and a thinking individual; making decisions and choices based on her own interests and passions not just because her friends are doing it or trying to be “popular.” This seems to be an integral part of the JDS education. Our son's (Kindergarten) sudden acceleration of letter recognition and even “snap” words going from 0 to showing signs of starting to read in just a few short months has been astounding. The religious base for both kids has been very satisfying. There is such a simple and straight forward approach to identifying as a Jew that the kids don't realize how much they are growing and internalizing. Both revel in the way they experience the songs they have learned in school sung at camp and vice versa. Rather than sinking back as a wallflower as most kids would do in a large crowd, both kids jump right in with enthusiasm at each holiday and love to sing along with an awe of how fascinating it is that others are singing the same songs they learned at school. They feel a warmth of community wherever they go because of the atmosphere generated at JDS. It's been as great for us, as it is for our kids. They know all the teachers, and all the teachers know them. We have been very happy with JDS and the solid academic and people building foundation they are getting from their excellent experiences they are getting at JDS.

While our older daughter was thriving in the public schools, as our younger daughter approached kindergarten, we could see that a smaller and sweeter environment was needed for her. So, we looked at several private schools, with the intention of staying only for kindergarten. The night before my tour at JDS, I almost cancelled my appointment- I did not see myself as a Jewish Day School parent, the school was too far away from our home, and the cost felt out of reach. I did, however keep the appointment, and after observing in several classrooms, knew that this was the right place for our daughter.Five years later, my child has blossomed from a shy, terrified kindergartener who would not look someone in the eye to say hello to a confident, engaged learner. At JDS, she has been treasured for who she is- the school actively appreciates and cultivates non-academic skills such as kindness and cooperation, which built a foundation of confidence on which her academic skills could bloom. Students are met where they are, are appreciated, supported, and encouraged to continually grow and stretch, all while knowing their strengths as learners. The opportunities to ask questions, think deeply, explore, and create are vastly different than our other daughter's experience in public school. And while we were not drawn to JDS because of the Jewish content, that is a big part of why we have stayed. Our younger daughter's sense of who she is, and what she can contribute to this world is deeply rooted in Jewish values, and has been a powerful contribution to her development and to our family as a whole. We cannot say enough about how thrilled we are to be part of this community.
