Ambleside School Ratings & Reviews

We have been constantly impressed with the curriculum and overall educational and social aspects of Ambleside School from Kindergarten through third grade. We have no doubt this excellence will continue through the rest of the grades. The school community feels much more like family, including the professional staff of the school. The subjects taught ranging from Shakespeare to stitching have introduced our child to knowledge, skills, and experiences that would be entirely unavailable at any other local school, public or private.

We are so grateful that we have teachers, staff and a community at Ambleside, whom surround our three children daily with love, wisdom, grace and discipline. Our children are being educated in a place that is a means of God’s grace to them; not perfect, but a place where redeemed people are pointing them to a Sovereign God that created the world for us to enjoy, and take delight in; a place that teaches our children to love to learn. We love how over the years, our younger children have returned home to their mom, with flowers, (sometimes weeds!) that they have picked during recess, and have delighted to give these natural gifts to their mom, like a bouquet! We love the fact that our children beg us to take them to the library to check out some quality books. We love that, when we are in a place that is displaying art, our children stop to see if they recognize the artwork, and exclaim the artist’s name, when they do! We love that, our son, last year as a 2nd grader, at the dinner table, excitedly talked about George Washington crossing the Delaware River, defeating the Hessians, and he had to explain to his mom what a Hessian soldier was, since she was not educated in such matters! The list goes on but we are wholeheartedly grateful for the education that our children receive at Ambleside. We are truly grateful for this Christ-centered school and that it has undeniably cultivated a love for learning in our children that we never would have imagined.

We've been at this school for three years now and we love it more and more. My son is like a knowledge sponge! He seeks out opportunities to learn and comes out with the most amazing things. The school's attention to behavior and discipline is remarkable too. The kids are respectful and know how to pay attention and focus but also get plenty of time to run outside and be kids (my son loves snow days when he gets to take his sled to school!). The teachers genuinely love these kids and love to learn with them. I can't say enough good things about this school! It's truly been a gift to our family and we're excited to have our second child start Kindergarten next year. This is a special place.

This is not your standard Christian school. The children are trained to use their brain at a very young age. I have two children at the school since kindergarten and the both love to learn. After holiday breaks, they are excited to return. The teachers and staff take the time to teach character building, something that is lost these days. Besides the wonderful curriculum, kids enjoy time outdoors to be creative and appreciate nature. I could go on and on why I love this school as much as much children do. It is a hidden gem.

My four children are all at this wonderful school and have been so since Kindergarten. They are very different, but all love to learn and are engaged fully in their classroom studies. We often have rich discussions around the table we talk about what was studied today - my older kids often reminiscing about the books they enjoyed years before. I'm sad that my oldest graduates this year, but I'm confident she is well prepared for what High School will bring.
