We had a horrible experience with this facility. After an incident with one of my kids, they were dumped at Primary Children's Hospital and we were called to pick them up. I was absolutely disgusted that a so called therapy center is allowed to treat children this way. Kids are there because they have problems and if you cannot deal with it, maybe it's time to rethink your policies. BTW, you should look into what happens behind closed doors in your dormitory sleeping accomodations. Once the door is closed, the bullying is very apparent and the kids act out away from adult eyes.

As others have said, it's not really a school, it's a counseling center for teens with addiction to drugs or having problems with depression and anxiety. They do have an accredited school program as part of the service, and my daughter was able to make up credits that she had failed and get back on track to graduate with her class. The student teacher ratio was a bout 1 to 5, which was excellent for my daughter and her needs. We enrolled our daughter at LifeLine because she struggled with severe depression, anxiety, and had been getting involved in some drug use. The therapist that worked with my daughter was incredible and my daughter connected really well with her. The Psychiatrist was very conservative with prescribing medication, as we were hesitant with too much medication, but the doctor helped us with questions we had and found the right balance that made all the difference for my daughter.I am grateful to LifeLine that they gave me my daughter back. She is happy, we communicate well in the family, and I would recommend this program to anyone!

LifeLine for Youth is not a school and should probably not be listed on this site at all, but it is an amazing organization. LifeLine is a treatment and counseling center for troubled youth who struggle with drug addiction, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, family conflict, and other destructive behaviors that have prevented them from being successful in school or in life. LifeLine does not market or advertise themselves as a school or pretend to be a world class educational institution. The purpose of their school program is to prevent students from falling behind on credits while in treatment, or making up credits if they are behind from school failures related to their addiction or mental health issues. Student teacher ratios are about 1 to 6 which is great for students that have struggled in the past. Overall, the staff and counselors are amazing and really care about the students and their families. They are great role models and provide a safe environment for treatment and healing.

The investment needed to provide an education that is (at minimum) at the same level as a public school education is not even present at this program. Know that your child will need additional private tutoring or other accommodations to receive an adequate education, and I am not sure what they allow during treatment. SInce this program generally lasts 9 months or more, it is something that can seriously impact a student's success.
