I graduated from Davis High years ago. It is a solid school, but it is also the whitest, most Mormon and conservative school in an extremely white, Mormon, and conservative state. Academically, the Honors and AP classes are good, but the regular courses are average. Socially, the graduates of Davis High are well prepared to attend BYU or BYU-I where their ethnocentrism, homophobia, and sense of religious superiority can remain unchallenged, and even encouraged. Having said that, I enjoyed my time there and believe I was well prepared academically for difficult college work. There are a few (a very few) teachers and students who will challenge the status quo and think for themselves.

I attended Davis High as a student and absolutely loved my experience there. Now that I am an educator I can see more clearly than ever how wonderful Davis High really is. Davis is known across the state as the top AP school in Utah with more offerings and higher pass rates than nearly all other schools. They also have a strong music/theatre/arts program including choir, show choirs, Moonlight Jazz Singers, band, marching band, jazz band, orchestra, social dance, jazz dance, dance company, D'ettes, theatre, and musical productions (which is taught by one of the most amazing teachers I have ever come in contact with). The students are friendly and hold themselves to a high standard academically as well as morally. I almost want to move my family back to Kaysville just so they can have the amazing high school experience I did at Davis High.

I am currently a sophmore attending davis, and i love it! It has great programs and the teachers are awesome! the AP classes are hard but prepare you for the test, they offer many AP classes that are both fun and challenging. I don't play sports but i enjoy watching them, this school has every sport you can think of from tennis to golf and everthing inbetween! The administration is always there to help and are willing to help you with anything you need! The school is just all around amazing! Go darts!

My children have attended Davis High and have scored high on national tests as a result of the education they have received. The social environment is more diverse than some of the older comments on this forum claim. If the local population does not have a high minority percentage, I don't feel that should reflect badly on the school. My son's current hang-out group is full of minorities, and many students who are non-white are very popular and accepted. Back to real issues, though, Davis is very serious about its academic, athletic, and musical and other extracurricular programs. Student participation is very high in AP courses, and for those on the college track, the preparation for college is very good. Davis also has a large number of graduates who are accepted at Ivy League schools and other prestigious universities. Teachers are highly qualified, but there is still room for improvement.
