This school was the worst. I graduated from there about 15 years ago and when it was time to look at schools for my kids, I made sure we stayed far away from the woodlands. I felt like when I left high school I entered into a world which I was not prepared for. TWHS is a sheltered bubble and I'd be ashamed if my daughter went there. I don't ever tell people I lived or went to high school in the woodlands. It's not a place I'm proud of... and I was the top of my class... president of clubs... on sports teams... I enjoyed it while I was in school. It's what happened afterwards (ie: knowing nothing about the real world. BTW I'm extremely liberal now. Was not that way in high school. Didn't even know that was an option!) that made me truly realize how awful my high school experience was.

Let me just start out by saying, for all of the people who gave this school a bad rating, you are WRONG. This school is undeniably the best school in Texas, if not one of the top schools in the country. 1. Education/College Prep - This school is the BEST in the state of Texas for college prep and education. There is a reason TWHS has such a high quality education. The teachers genuinely care for EACH and EVERY single student in the student body. Regardless, of if the student is in the teachers class. I would be walking through the hallways, and on ANY given day, 99.9999% of the teachers would greet me or ask how I was doing. There is a reason the courses are so rigorous. It is because the school is trying to prepare each and every student for college. No other school in Texas does it better than TWHS. 2. Everyone has a family in TWHS, wether your in football, golf , baseball, swimming, debate.... it doesn't matter. You have a group of people that care for you.3. Being in The Woodlands band program has CHANGED MY LIFE. The directors care so much about the students and really want the students to succeed in life. The same goes for any other club/extra-curricular activity. BTW, the band program is nationally recognized, winning numerous competitions. Including, being crowned the Bands of America Grand National Champions in 2013. If you didn't read the ratings, you should do that. The ratings speak for themselves. The classes may be hard, the homework load may be a lot. But at the end of senior year, walking across the stage is SO WORTH IT. I am SO PROUD TO BE A HIGHLANDER!!!!

"The 9th grade campus is uncontrolled, disorderly, and full of bullies. I was about to explode with anger today because of my last class. We had a substitute teacher because our teacher was ""visiting her son"" or something. Is that even an excuse to leave? And my classmates were out of control, cussing at other kids and drawing on our teacher's pictures on the wall. The substitute didn't even know about this. There was a partially-autistic kid who got angry at this troublemaker (they already hate each other) and called him a vulgar name. One girl got called a lesbian and the other teens laughed at her, but she was saying she wasn't lesbian. Later on, she called another person gay and I said, ""That's offensive to gay people."" because they were laughing at someone if they were called gay in a sexual orientation way. There is a sign on the boards of the classrooms that says people cannot make fun of someone due to their sexual orientation, race, gender, religion, etc., yet people are doing this. And they should have cameras in the classrooms because it was chaotic in that last class. I was made fun of due to my heredity of a foreign country I was from and called a Communist."

i recently attended a jv football game 09/12/2013 at your facility i was shocked at the handicapped parking, and the distance from parking to seating. as my husband is disabled we wont be attending any other functions at this facility. also there were no lights in either womens or mens restrooms. these issues need to be addressed
