To be honest, I feel like I'm treated as a unit, a number in a factory of products. My experiences with the school has been great, however, there's only things that need to be improved... I feel as everyone is active but there's a piece missing.

I’ve had a great experience thus far. Teachers & administrators are open to feedback & making the necessary changes to help my student succeed. Success of every student is paramount to the teachers & all staff.

My overall experience has been depressing. I feel like a whole different person and not in a positive way. If I could go back and change high schools I would in a heart beat. The environment is negative and there is so much work, and not enough time for other things.

After attending for three years I wish I could've gone somewhere else. My experiences were terrible, in fact, one of the girls that graduated eight grade with me gave birth to her child that same year. Yup, that's what they don't tell you. The principle is selective and favors certain students over others, same for the teachers. The student body is not only toxic but a breeding ground for self-conscious thoughts as well as actions. It would take too many hands to count the number of girls I met who self-harmed or had the warning signs of an eating disorder while being at that school. There's an inferiority complex shown not only in students, but also in teachers. The teachers only care about the STAAR exam grades, and I can honestly say now that my math class experiences were horrible due to the fact that I only learned what was said to be on the STAAR exam. No backstory, nothing after that. The months spent after the STAAR were basically free periods for most classes. Bullying is a terrible epidemic at this school and here's a warning: regardless of what your child tells you, you may either be breeding a bully or be witnessing the effects of one being bullied. All in all, the only thing I can deem this school good for is allowing your daughter to explore their sexuality/gender identity, if you (as a parent) are okay with that sort of thing.

My daughter has attended YWCPA for 4 years and I could not have selected a better school for her. She is eager to attend school everyday, talks about college and career goals, and learns not just academics but what it is to carry herself as a respectable, empowered young woman. The academics are top notched. Being an educator myself, I can see through smoke and mirrors but YWCPA offers a challenging, relevant curriculum that is preparing our girls to be leaders in this world. The teachers and leadership team KNOW their scholars and build relationships that make it safe to think outside the box and hold them to high standards. If I could give YWCPA 10 stars I would!
