My family is pleased with our choice to send our children to St. Martha. Our children are doing very well both academically and socially. The teachers are caring and very qualified.

As a parent of two sons that completed PreK - 8th grade at St Martha in Kingwood and then moved on to Catholic Highschool, I could not sing their praises enough. Having our children hear the same moral messages at home, church and school is instrumental in the formation of a well-rounded young person. The role of St. Martha has always been to provide an outstanding educational opportunity while instilling in each student a strong moral character. Our experience has been that the teachers are fully engaged in the success of each and every student's academic future. They were always willing to stay after school to help, always willing to conference if their was a concern on any level. The best part about a small school is the ratio of student to teacher. A smaller school might have the same negative issues that a larger school might have but at a lesser degree enabling the teachers to focus fully on the issues of compassion for others, differences in cultures, etc... As a volunteer I have witnessed on many occasions the dedication of the teachers going above and beyond for students that might need a little extra attention. Discipline is and was a factor in our choice for a school. Teaching self respect and the respect of others is paramount to the success of a young person as we as parents and teachers prepare them for their next steps. We would recommend St. Martha Catholic School to anyone who feels as we do, that a faith based education is an investment in our children's future.

The faculty and administration truly collaborate with families to educate students. St. Martha's has high expectations for students and instills in them the drive to succeed, as is evidenced by the success our kids in high school and college! Best K-8 school offering in Kingwood!

"As a student who has been at this school since pre-k, I've seen how this school has changed for the worst. Some of the classes are challenging and hands on, but the rest are just repeating the same things year after year without going deeper into the subject. The teachers are very negative all the time and yell at us for small things. One of the teachers is also very sassy and she doesn't put any effort into our class. They also put their stress and anger onto us even if we aren't doing anything. The school is very racist and sexist and they don't do anything about big issues, such as bullying, unless you complain all the time. The punishments for bullying and making fun of others is a green slip or discipline slip and/or a talk to the whole class about bullying, which doesn't help. One of the teachers yelled at me for looking away during a lesson and said ""You of all people should be listening."" Our P.E. teacher also discriminates against kids who aren't as athletic as others. If we try and tell the counselor or principal/vp about the teachers, they always take the teachers side and defends them. The teachers don't encourage us to do better in class, instead they just tell us how disappointed they are in us and how we should've studied more, etc. The elementary/pre-k classes are very strict towards the children and their expectations for them are way too high. Ive also seen some of the elementary teachers be very rough with their children. The only good thing about the school is there are small classes which is a good learning environment. There aren't many ways to get involved in the school, club wise, except for sports. The school is very strict in general and for the only catholic school in the area, they haven't been doing a great job lately. It isn't worth your money and you're better off sending your child to public school."

The middle school is not good at all! As a student, i know the teachers are very negative and angry most of the time. The teachers also can be sexist. They take serious issues, such as bullying, very lightly unless your parent is constantly complaining. In front of parents, they make it seem like the ideal Catholic school, but it's far from it. Some classes are challenging, others not so much. They have high expectations for behavior, but those expectations can also be unrealistic. I highly wouldn't recommend their middle school.
