The school was a positive environment and we really enjoyed our time at the school before our child got to middle school. The middle school culture cultivated by the teachers is an absolute nightmare. As mentioned before, most of the really good teachers in the elementary school have since left. However a couple remain - Phifer, Neis, Rivera, Wolgamot. The schools needs a stronger, more experienced principal than the current one and much heavier oversight from the parishes.

Rigid, inflexible environment. There is no GT or advanced curriculum; all students are taught at the same level, which means...teachers are teaching to the middle. Advanced students and students needing extra support are better off at the area public schools. There is also no social/emotional teaching, which has led to an environment of bullying and cruelty. It ain't your kid; it's the school.

"Overall, the attitude towards parents is don't ask questions. The after school care uses other students to help supervise children, but they are not subject to the same “Safe and Sacred” training as the adults and the use of other students is not advertised to the parents relying on that care. The uniform requirements are cumbersome (there are 3 different outfits during the week) and the fees when compared to other schools in the area are high. The school uses RenWeb, which would have the potential to be a great tool, but the teachers often took weeks to input grades into it and by then it was too late to help our child. If a comment came home on behavior, there wasn’t enough detail for us to be able to talk to our child to reinforce whatever the alleged infraction was. When we asked, we were made to feel like we were bothering the teacher. One time we actually got a report back that he took too long in the bathroom and I refuse to punish a child for that. There could have been a medical reason behind it, but the assumption was always misbehavior. Science and social studies are really lacking in the younger grades. If you work outside the home, there is a bias towards families that have one parent staying at home. Mandatory ""volunteer"" hours are usually during the work week."

Alumni here. Heavily bias views taught. Instead of being shown both sides of an argument, school focuses on the more conservative side. Had one peer was bullied and staff did nothing. Not exactly a “Catholic” if you ask me.

My child has done well academically. The principal has not done well with the challenges the school / teacher faces and seems to reap the fact he has some sort of power. We won’t be back next year unfortunately.
