Parish Episcopal School Ratings & Reviews

If you are looking for a remarkably liberal school, this is the school for you. Chapel is at best boring for the middle school and for the upper school quite shocking some of the time (that is if you are of the Christian religion and believe the Bible is God's true work - if you are willing to bend the Bible into how you would like to interpret it, then you probably will not have a problem). Educators are for the most part Democrats which had not seemed to have been a problem until this past election. Many students got into trouble displaying Trump paraphenalia, in chapel when Obama was president, the students were called to pray for him - not for Trump?!? Teachers got mad when students spoke of Trump . . . We believe all are created equal - we are called to love - BUT we are not called to stand up in chapel and celebrate sexual differences, take a knee for Black Lives Matter. Parish has carried things way too far

Parish Episcopal has a great community of kids and parents brought together by an innovative faculty and administration. Parish is a newer upper school and - as such - is not bound by tradition for the sake of tradition and is keeping its programs, facilities and faculty on the cutting edge of learning. It provides opportunity for all students to excel and to find success for themselves.

My daughter is in 6th grade and started at Parish as at three years. We have been very happy with the responsiveness of the head of school to concerns, which he made sure were addressed. I love how welcoming and inclusive the parents and kids are, I like that the HOS is constantly evaluating what's going on in education and incorporating cutting-edge theory into the curriculum. The after school program is great; my daughter takes piano and two dance classes after school. (not cheap, but worth it) I also like that they require the kids in middle school to take dance, band/choir, theater for a trimester. My daughter participated in the Robotics program last year against her will and ended up having a blast. The ramped up STEM program is so exciting. Finally, the emphasis on leadership and the programs used to teach and encourage it make me certain this is the right school for our daughter.

I am a freshman at Parish this year and this is my second year attending parish. i was looking forward to having a great christian education. Although we do have a daily chapel, Christianity is a minority at parish and almost discouraged. We aren't allowed to have any sort of bible club of anything about christianity because it may "offend other religions" we cant even call the tree in our hallway, a christmas tree, we are forced to call it a "holiday tree." Despite the religion problem, i would say the best part about parish is its academics, MOST of the teachers are great at what they do, but alot of them arent too nice. But you do learn alot. The kids at parish arent all that accepting either. some of them are so nice though. It definately is a competetive crowd. I will not be attending parish next year.

Is ok, there are better private schools out there for the amount of money they ask.
