We are very happy at Holy Family. The teachers and staff are beyond amazing. It is apparent that they love what they do and that they genuinely care for the students. When you are on campus, you can see that the kids are truly happy there. My only complaints are the emphasis on homework in early grades, and the class size/ratio once students reach 2nd grade. I know that it is just a result of the school growing, which is a good thing, and it has not had a negative impact for us. However I hope that the class size is kept under control so that teachers have the ability to continue to provide individualized attention to each child. One of the main reasons parents choose private vs. public is the student-teacher ratio. Round Rock ISD has a class size cap of 22 (anything above requires an exception/approval). Our class limit is 25 I believe, in my opinion that is a lot for 1 teacher. Again, it has not affected us yet but I could imagine that it would be hard for a child who needs extra help. Other than those 2 concerns, we think this is a great school and amazing community to be part of. The families support each other and go all out to help make the school a great place.

We have had a disappointing experience here. Some teachers are awesome. Others are not. They do not provide enough physical activity during the day. Children have to eat their lunches in the classroom and be silent. Some of the specials teachers are not well qualified to work with little ones. Spanish and music have been a disappointment. They don't work well with children that don't fit the standard mold and don't actively work at helping every child realize their potential. From their mission statement, I expected much more.

My 2 children have thrived in the elementary school where the culture is Catholic and the academics are strong.

We have been at Holy Family for 4 years and are extremely happy with the education our daughter has received. Her teachers all sincerely care about her as a person and have kept up with her and with us even after she left their grade. Our child is constantly praised for her behavior, attitude and compassion by others, but, frankly she is no different than most children at HFCS. They are held to a high, but attainable, standard of behavior and respect for classmates without exception. Compassion and empathy, hallmarks of a peaceful society, are stressed in each grade. Academically, HFCS excels. There are high academic standards, but isn't that what we want for our children, to be well prepared to enter middle school, high school and college? It may be more work than neighborhood kids are doing, or friends might have, but mediocrity is always easier, isn't it? I would recommend HFCS to anyone considering private school.

Academics are strong, especially in the middle school. Students can achieve as much as they can and will be pushed. Excellent programs in music, theater, and language. Sports teams are decent (especially good in soccer), but the school does not obsess over them. Holy Family won the State Championship in PSIA - a wide-ranging academic competition involving over 100 private schools around the state. Principal is very forward looking, and willing to try new programs. Accessibility and commitment of the teachers is absolutely outstanding. It is a very nice community, devoted to educating all aspects of our children. We're very happy with the school
