We have been at CPA for 7 years. I am not a teacher nor am I related to a teaching family. We been very pleased with the academic rigor, the accessibility of the administration is each school. Our children have established great friendships with friends. Every alumni I speak to has shared they felt prepared for the expectations of college. If you are looking for a school that provides a college preparatory education in a grace understanding environment without sacrificing its Biblical mission, then look no further than CPA

This school seems to be having some growing pains. It's a lot like a public school (or worse actually) in that if you are a student that has any special academic needs (high or low end) you are not going to find what you need there. The focus seems to be on athletics and it's a competitive environment. In P.E. the entire class is sometimes held back until less athletic children master the skill...leaving those children to feel terrible about themselves. There are repeat offender bullies and "mean kids" who get a pass time after time. We keep hearing this school used to be very special...used to be doesn't cut it with the high price of tuition, and the mediocre academics. The ones who could change the situation seem very arrogant or possibly ignorant of the situation, concerning less than stellar academics, and bullying. Another thing that we witnessed and have heard from many others is that this school is like an exclusive club for the teachers. It certainly is! One look at the yearbook and you will see the teachers kids plastered all over it, sports teams (for elem.) that are called CPA LIONS (were there tryouts? did anyone know about these? were all kids included?) No, these teams were handpicked by the parents that work there. As if that wasn't bad enough, the students themselves have no problem telling the non participating children that they are on the real school team. If one is looking for a school where all children come in on equal footing this is not the place.

We have three children in the elementary school and have come to love it primarily because of the people who pour into our children like no other school we have attended. Our kids are thriving academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I have found the academics to be dynamic in that they are constantly seeking best practices and strongest curriculum. The Academic Dean seeks out to understand the research behind what's taught and the methodology for teaching. But most of all, the foundation in faith is solid, and the school loves and teaches our kids to live and love authentically.

I currently am in high school at CPA. I have been here since second grade and have not been able to make a connection. The environment in my grade is causing me to switch schools. I see many kids, including myself, being made fun of because they are different, and the teachers just stand by and watch. Plus, the things the girls do in my grade are nothing close to being "Christ-like". So, in the end, a good CPA experience depends on the type of people that are in the grade.

After two of my Grandchildren came to live with us, I enrolled both of them in Christ Presbyterian Academy. One of them has been there two years and is graduating this year (May 2011), the other one just finished the eight grade and is beginning high school this fall. Both of them have done great in school and are averaging A's and B's. The teachers are wonderful and the administration is determined for each child to graduate from there and be able to get into any university their goals dictate. The Christian Education is strong and balanced for their life that is ahead of them. A new High School building will open this fall and is truly built with the latest technology with the maximum class size of 20 so the teachers can spend the maximum time with each student. The elementary and middle school buildings are being totally renovated this summer and will brought up to "new" status. My wife and I feel regardless of money that could not be in a better educational school even though there are many more expensive schools in the Nashville area. We are totally satisfied with education and environment at Christ Presbyterian Academy.
