My child went to school here for less than a year and that was enough. They were all the time asking for money and pretty much demanding that the kids did their "fund raising". Do you know what the money was going to be used for...an electronic sign for the front of the school. this proves students are not first priority. The very first day of school my daughter came home with a school supply list that cost over $50 for me to get everything on the list, she also told me that there was nothing on the play ground and informed me that she has to pay for packets of ketchup at lunch...are you kidding me. You want an electronic sign to show off but you have kids having to pay for ketchup but owe yes an electronic sign, THAT'S what you NEED and you think that's ok..My child absolutely hated it here and thats not like her to hate school. She is VERY smart, quiet, and respectful and she has came home crying before saying she doesn't want to go back when at her old school she had perfect attendance and loved going to school. She has told me that some boy in her class steals stuff from her desk and calls her a fu**ing b**ch on a daily basis and she even went to get her ice cream money for lunch one day and it was gone and she is basically told to ignore him. She says the librarian is very hateful and she almost peed on herself because she refused to let her go to the bathroom after she asked her twice. They never took field trips..NOT ONE. They never notify parents when there is no school. They are too cheap to print out the days there is no school to hand out. It was apparently fall break and we waited at the bus stop an hour with no bus showing up. This school is a JOKE. They dont even have holiday parties. This school is horrible and I really can't believe that things were so bad here that my daughter cried not wanting to go to school and I eventually had to take her out not even half way into the school year because I could see keeping her there was damaging her emotionally. This school is so rediculous that she went into third grade knowing how to multiply and some of how to divide and came out knowing even less because what she knew was not even being taught yet. Pathetic. I honestly feel so sorry for any child that HAS to go here because we tried forever and the board of education is just as terrible here. They REFUSED that my child attend a better school.

My children have gone and are going to Norwood Elementary School. Both have THRIVED. We want to move but are holding out until our youngest graduates from here. Fabulous teachers that are supportive and extremely helpful. I love that my children have been surrounded by diversity. This will only help them when they're in college and then in their careers. Love Norwood Elementary School.
