Laurel High School Ratings & Reviews

i Went to school here in the early 90's.. I loved the teachers..the environment is very personal, I never though of it as a school, but more of a group of people working together for a common goal.. Better Learning..i learned from the teachers as well as the other students and to be honest, made some of the more difficult subjects even fun. they offer classes you wont find anywhere else, and if enough students want it, they will create a class for you.well they did when i when there... Im very glad to see this school is still operating. if i lived in the area i would send my children there..

Laurel was a perfect fit for my child who will finish school there. Too bad that the neocon mindset of this area discourages this type of school. Coupled with the corporate model mindset in the education world at this time, throwing the students under the bus (aka NCLB) seems to be the national pasttime of politicians and "educational experts". The quality of instruction and the learning curve of the students was superb. I have seen many types of students be successful using many different types of structure in my decades long experience in education. Laurel met the needs of many of these students.

Very unstructured and chaotic. Free thinking environment, but not an acedemic focused.
