My family and I just moved from Florida last year, first we kinda nervous because we don't really know the school but once we get to know the principal, VP, teachers and everyone that work at the school we are very pleased. My son really enjoyed her 2nd grade teacher Ms. Guidish. We are looking forward for his 3rd grade teacher and our son education in the 3rd grade. Thank you to all staff in Fountain City elementary. Stay strong and happy teaching!

We moved from out of state last summer. My daughter started 3rd grade here. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the school, her teacher and the surrounding community. Compared to where we lived, South Carolina, this is hands down a better experience for my daughter. When she learned something, she learned it! She is a good child and student without discipline issues. Her teacher did a great job engaging her in classroom instruction and I felt my daughter was safe walking to and from school.I wanted more parent/teacher communication, especially when grades started to drop a bit. This is something I will work on with her 4th grade teacher for the upcoming school year. Overall, FCE has been a great school for us. I have not had to deal with the administration at the school because, again, my child is not a discipline issue. I did not spend time in her classroom while being instructed, but from what my daughter learned this past school year, I can safely say that her teacher is effective.

We came to Fountain City Elementary school when my child was in third grade. After attending another local inner city school and having some educational challenges we had high hopes for this school. Unfortunately, we have had bad expierence after bad bad expierence with the teachers and the staff! My child was unfairly given a suspension ( the other children involved received no punishment) which caused her to be removed the dance team- a goal which she had worked and trained very hard to attain. Due to her academic struggles, she already suffers with low self- esteem and this school has only dragged her lower and lower. I have been appalled by the way the administration has handled instances of bullying and teacher behavior at Fountain City and I am thankful that we will be moving on next year. I can only hope and pray for a better staff and administration in the future.

FC is a great school. The administrators that are in place at the school now have been a tremendous help to me and my son. They have been amazing. My son has learned so much. He is in fifth grade currently and has been at FC since Kindergarten. He has never had a bad teacher. All of the staff is very kind and compassionate.

My son went there for 1.5 years. It is a joke. A kindergarten boy threatened to kill my son and his family and the school did nothing. The boy's family was in prison and his grandmother who had him had just been released from jail. The social worker at the time was in over her head, it was beyond comprehension. The next year wasn't any better so we put him in K-12 which is great. Fountain City told us our son was reading a year behind his grade but when he was tested he was reading a year ahead. We have nothing good to say about the school and those gates are not to keep the kids safe it's to keep you out. Just try to go in unannounced to check on your child and see how your treated.
