Honestly a pretty dysfunctional school that is NOT for gifted students. Classes are dumbed down to meet the 80+ requirement and consist of irrelevant projects and busywork - to the lowest common denominator. Course offerings are slim. Does not prepare you for college rigor. Even when a student tries to advance themselves, admin refuses, and as a result course offerings are actually BEHIND most public schools. Do your proper research. Students end up having a ton of open periods which looks bad because you can only take 3 college-level classes in 11th grade compared to 4-6 APs at a good public, and override requests are refused. Basically, they won't let you advance because they "know better", even when "inferior" schools will. At other schools, you can double up on sciences/math, take AP classes, etc. sophomore year. Here, they just put you in useless filler classes and "College Seminar" (we're too cheap to have actual classes so let's give you an involuntary study hall instead). Despite being a college-focused school, BMC has an incompetent guidance department. Grading policies are questionable. Why should you try and use your brain the first time when you can just retest and extra-credit your way to an A even if you don't deserve it? GPA and rank are skewed as a result, with girls especially receiving unfair grade inflation and ending up with a ridiculously high GPA and average SAT scores. No real academic extracurriculars and students aren't involved because nobody cares, students or teachers. I could go on and on and on about this place. It's also very behind in terms of technology and general advancement, even as a new school.

This is my first year at BMC and I love it! Everyone is so nice and the teachers always help you if you have problems. And the school is also very nice it is clean and a very good environment. A++ :D

Excellent school, excellent academic program, excellent student support system, excellent everything. Teachers go out of their way to help you (even if you are not in their class. I'm in a college trigonometry class and the high school math teachers find time to sit down and help me when I am struggling- even though I have never had them before) and the administration knows you and your name. By the time you make it to senior year you feel like you're part of one big family.
