My son is in the 7th grade. We moved here from Ohio last year. I was a little relucttant at first to have my son attend due to the mediorce rating. He really likes his school and the teachers are great. He is an advanced student and sometimes he does not always feel that his classes are challenging. The guidance counselor is wonderful and helped us through a physical challenge on arrival.

If you can, send your child to a different school! The current principal is interested only in his public image. He will not enforce the rules as put forth in the handbook, and students get away with very destructive behavior on a regular basis. Between fights, bomb threats, horseplay, and inappropriate sexual behavior, it is a wonder that anyone is able to learn anything while here. Concerned parents and teachers can bring issues to him, but he will see suggestions and questions as personal attacks, and no resolution will come. He rarely implements new programs (likes to say "this is the way it's always been done"), and when he does attempt to do so, it is NEVER well planned and doesn't go the way anyone would like. While there are many quality, hard working, and caring teachers at WMS, they are rendered ineffective due to the leadership. Even assistant principals don't often last more than a year here. Don't send your kids here, don't pursue a job here: if anything, the community should demand his replacement.

I am a current student attending Woodmont Middle School. Overall, the school is unprofessional. The teachers are slack and uneducated while the students are criminals and bullies. There is nothing to like about this school and all in all, the school has to improve in every area. Students fight and cause school disruptions, teachers punish children for no reason and slack on their job, the administration doesn't care about the faults in the school. It's ridiculous. I've begged my mom to allow me to attend another school but every time, she's said no. The guidance office, don't even start me on Guidance. Don't even bother going, they are so behind on everything, if your child has a problem, it'll NEVER be solved. It's horrible. #freethewildcats
