the school would be fine if they gave the staff a class on personal behavior. The attitudes or awful.

As a parent of a Freshman, my first experience with Woodmont High was the Freshman academy and the LINK program which partners outstanding upper classmen with 9th grade students for mentoring purposes. This has allowed us to experience future leaders that are a positive influence on our younger students. The teachers are encouraging and involved and willing to partner with me to support my students academic success. The band program has built confidence, encouraged team work, kindness and is built on mutual respect for students, staff and parents. I have been more than impressed with the level of responsibility these students are given and how they have risen to meet high expectations. The guidance department as been outstanding, schedule issues were addressed in a timely manner. Lastly, this is one of few schools in the area which offer the International Baccaloriate program. We look forward to the future at Woodmont which is in a rural setting, yet competitive in nature with other schools academically.

The teachers are amazing in higher level classes but the kids who struggle are left to barely get by in classes thought by teachers who don't have a passion for what they are teaching. Some of them don't even care. The only good aspect of this school is the AP/IB and honors courses available. a majority of the students there are terrible. It is not an environment centered around academics. A lot of the students there could care less about life after high school. Drugs are a major problem. People get caught all the time with dip and weed on them. People spit their dip into the sinks and I've even found it on the toilet seats. I am in all honors and AP classes and I have still had people offer to sell me weed. The school lives up to its nickname "weedmont".Gangs are also an issue (though not as prominent as drugs). Overall, I'd say that I have been happy with most of the teachers I've had. However, I can safely say that I never want to see 3/4ths of this school ever again. The school is trashy, but there are a few students and teachers who deserve better than woodmont. Finally I'd just like to say that my favorite part about this school is probably the principle, Daryl Imperati. He is such a driven man who really aspires to maximize the productivity of our high school. He has great aspirations as to how a real academic facility should be run. I admire him. However, I feel as if he deserves way more than woodmont. He cares so much for students who care so little. Whenever I have the opportunity to speak with him, I can tell he takes genuine interest in his students. He is one of the few good aspects of this school. Also, he and the teachers are really the only reason I didn't give Woodmont one star

My daughter is a current student at Woodmont, and I would not recommend any one choosing this school for their children. The staff shows no concern for the students. When I talked with the school counsoler, because I feel my child is in danger of dropping out she seemed unconserned . Did not offer any help or suggestions on how we could work together to keep her in school. The dress code goes uninforced. Boys w/ their pants belted around their knees, and girls hanging out of their clothes. During lunch the kids are separated into lines based on full pay/free or reduced. This makes it easier for the lower income children to be identified and picked on. The list goes on and on of complaints I have. Fortunately we will soon be moving and I will no longer have to send my kids to ANY Greenville County school.
