We think of Gordon as our third parent, giving our two children the opportunity to grow and take risks in a nurturing environment. The diversity and keen attention to social justice is woven inextricably into the curriculum, resulting in academic excellence that prepares our children for a lifetime of empathy and connection. Modeling lifelong learning, Gordon's teachers are tireless in their pursuit professional development. The practice of teaching to every child is complex, yet they approach each challenge as an opportunity to expand their expertise. We feel that the school is in partnership with our family to grow and nurture our children with joy and playful curiosity.

Gordon doesn't have a high school, which is an important distinction. Without the distraction of high schoolers, Gordon is able to focus on the specific and varying needs of children age three to fourteen - a broad range to cover well! Both of my daughters have attended Gordon since age three. Gordon has a challenging curriculum, a beautiful twelve-acre campus (students go outside at least twice a day) and a commitment to multicultural education that is reflected in all corners of the school. I've gotten to know many graduates over the years, who have gone on to thrive in a wide variety of high school settings.

I have one child that attended almost 10 years ago, and I have one attending now. I loved everything about our first experience, but am most impressed with the school's ability to consistently improve their services, in small ways and large (i.e. FIT). Gordon offers the experience I want for my children: strong academics and arts, inclusivity AND individual recognition. The result has been that my children love school (and learning) and have the confidence to engage in the larger community outside school.

I have one child who has graduated and moved on to a highly competitive high school. She was wholly prepared academically, socially and emotionally for the challenge largely because of the superior individual attention the Gordon faculty gives to each student in their care. My younger daughter is currently in middle school at Gordon and is thriving. Her joy of learning and self-motivated drive to question and explore are a pleasure to see. She looks forward to going to school every day. Gordon is a place that encourages each child to be their authentic self, to be a kind and contributing citizen to their (as well as the global) community and to be a leader. I am so grateful to the school and its devoted staff for all that they have contributed to my daughters' formative years.

I was a student at The Gordon School for eleven years and have learned more than I could've at any other school about leadership, privilege, and diversity. This school expresses the importance of independence and expression. They make sure you feel comfortable expressing yourself with teachers that go out of their way to make sure your experience is outstanding. The teachers at this school are more than just teachers, they are role models and friends. While maintaining an amount of respect they lead you to academic excellence and social success. As for the students at this school, not every child is perfect, but because of the values that this school embodies the students have more respect and care for each other and their community. Overall this school teaches it's students not only to be at the top of their class in future endeavors, but to care for others, compare believes and change the world.
