Our son and our family were blessed to be a part of the OLM school community. We were so impressed with the teaching, challenging curriculum, parent involvement, and close friendships our son made at this school. We speak fondly of OLM often, and highly recommend this school to others.

One of the most horrible school experiences we've encountered in a school, ranging from teaching inadequacy to bullying by students against other students, students' parents, and teachers; there is a very disconcerting attitude of dismissiveness on the part of numerous teachers, after-school staff, and leadership to correct such misbehavior and instill better values. The school's organization and the way in which it generally operates leaves much to be desired. For instance, when school first started and we inquired about the location where our area's designated bus drops off the kids, staff responded, "Oh, we don't know and don't have that information. The school does not know where the buses drop off kids." Suffice to say, this revelation sent shivers up our spine, fearing proper care and safety of not only our child but that of all the children. Another instance of this disorganization is when we tried to call the school on numerous occasions to contact our child or relay a message to the front desk about our child -- there was never an answer at the main front desk, despite numerous attempts to call over a period of as long as one hour. God forbid if there is an emergency and a parent needs to contact the school.

My husband and I transferred our son mid-year after difficulty at our local public elementary school. It was the best decision we ever made. Our son is thriving in an enviornment that is academically challenging. Our son's new teacher is amazing. We feel like she has his interests in mind. Our experience at OLM changed the way we view his education.

OLM is a fantastic faith-based school with emphasis on academia and morality. The families are deeply invested in this school and in the education it offers. Most children who graduate from OLM have an elevated self-esteem from their history of "giving and doing" for others. With high self esteem comes good grades and healthy social skills. Furthermore, most grads from OLM continue their catholic education at top ranked high schools and go on to earn college degrees. The one thing I really wish is that the pastor or whoever controls the purse strings, would wise up and upgrade the dated building and build a community center to encourage increased enrollment, more community events and an enticing forum for lavish fundraising events.

We found this school has higher expectations and is more challenging than the public school my daughter came from. Teachers make themselves very available to students both before and after school. The level of communication with parents is also very good. As mentioned in earlier review, I can see some students might struggle if they aren't the "round peg" who fits in easily
