My children have all had great experiences at WAHS. The teachers care more than any others I have seen. They have always worked hard at communication with parents.

WAHS can be an amazing school, though experiences can vary widely from student to student. As an AP student and participant in the school's nationally recognized music program, I feel as if WAHS afforded me a superb education. Students who were in lower level academic classes or who didn't participate in WAHS excellent music and CTE programs may not feel the same way. Like any high school, WAHS has areas where it could improve. No school is perfect.Compared to other schools in the area, I believe WAHS is by far the best. As a larger school, it offers opportunities that the nearby, smaller school districts simply do not have the resources to provide. Furthermore, WAHS has a much more diverse student body than any other nearby schools. On top of receiving an education strong in academics, I learned how to empathize and interact with people much different from myself. WAHS didn't just prepare me for college, it helped me become a kinder and stronger person. Some people may be concerned about WAHS low standardized test scores, or the hyped up "violence" that occurs at the school. Test scores aren't necessarily the best standard for evaluating a school, and the WAHS administration are working hard to improve performance on the tests in any case. And, personally, there wasn't a single day during my time on the hill that I felt unsafe. Some students may act up or fight, but the WAHS faculty works very hard to provide a safe learning environment.Williamsport Area High School is an amazing school, whatever some may say.

This school sucks. I went there for high school and unless your in all Advanced Placement classes you're not going to learn close to anything. I personally felt like my learning had stopped after middle school until I started to teach myself via the internet and books. I was absent for close to half of the school year each school year and still had an b- grade point average while being in college bound classes, which should tell you something about their academic standards. One of the years that I was there they didn't even have a head principal. So overall I really disliked going to school here.

WAHS is a great school full of oppurtunities that smaller schools do not offer. I have worked here for over 3 years as a custodian and security on weekends, and never had to deal with a bad situation. You do have bad kids as with any school but the majority of the kids are great. The teachers and staff are very knowledgable and efficient. I would want my child to go here!

Wow! Just read the review by the former teacher. She can't spell the word principal or use the proper for of the word, your (hint: in this case it should be you're). Obviously this school does not hire the best and brightest to teach our students.
