I love the KIPP foundation. KIPP is nation-wide and they have been able to turn lives around. We have a huge problem in America. A large percentage of our children are not adequately educated, and the resources it takes to support the whole child as an individual for their continued success and subsequent social/economic positive contribution to our society are limited. KIPP educates our children, prepares them for college all the while leaning to work hard and be nice. They are teaching our children accountability and how to find a way to be excellent. Each individual school are finding their own way to align with the standards set forth by those two guys from Texas who were frustrated with the ills in education. Their system works as evident by the figures. We have to be patient with the process. I take comfort that my children were invited and have the opportunity not to fail. Problems arise, but the probability that their future would impact our world in a fruitful manner has increased. All in all, this is a breath of fresh air, and you can't really fuss about the microscopic bacteria that's always present. I applaud KIPP. They make a huge difference and take the time to teach their successful ways to other schools. My children and I have gained so many new genuine family members with the staff as well as our peers. If you can just Web out in your minds eye the impact that that will have in our society there is no way you can curb your enthusiasm. I implore you to read the book Work Hard and Be Nice...and I know you will fall in love with hope.

The teaching staff here works really hard. Really hard. They're all professional and kind and they really care. The kids are nuts and run the show. The admin stresses that students are not to be kicked out. Yes...99% of kids should not be kicked out...but some should. The ones who disrupt every minute of every day should...but they're not. The school is not organized well. There is no teacher evaluation system. Teachers work long hours with standard raises. The region let their PDE Induction Program lapse. No one even knew until teachers went to apply for their level 2 certificates and couldn't. The school had around 50% turnover last year in staffing...some really good people were let go because they had issues with how the school was being run. But instead of taking suggestion, get rid of the administrators and teachers who helped the school get some of its highest test scores in years. Makes sense. It's a warm, fuzzy, joke riddled with KIPPisms designed to distract you from the fact that they're letting kids and their families down year after year. Maybe if regional leadership changed....

I am not at all impressed with KIPP my child has attended this school since she was in fifth grade. Things are not improving I dont see the difference between KIPP and a public school.
