The faculty is phenomenal. They always go above and beyond to provide diverse and dynamic student experiences. Both my children have attended Marshall Street. We love it.

My experience at this school is the worst I have ever seen regarding their standards, respect and safety of its students. I rated Bad versus terrible because of the compassion of my child's teacher, she is great. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the school. The children's behaviors are not well manner or controlled by staff, which I can't blame the kids because the staff are so disrespectful, I question how low the minimum requirements are to be employed at this facility. The children are dismissed outside no matter what the temperature is, not considering low income families who do not dress their children adequately. Also, the safety of the kids are clearly last on the list when the bell rings. How do you explain hundreds of kids waiting for their parents outside and act as if one or two unidentified persons in the building is really a threat? I guess if harm was the intention they could just wait until the kids are unprotected outside, where one teacher attempts to pay attention to over 20 kids running wild waiting for their parents... This school precautions are at none, while policies that sound good to the ignorant ear are on a rise. What will this school do to seriously protect their students? There is no Parent Based groups to connect parents and the teachers to focus on the common goal of educating our children. Therefore, you only have a note in the book bag to rely on if the child didn't take it out already. There's no room for miscommunication because there is no communication, unless your child is in an after school activity, you may or may not get the automated reminder about something you did not know about to begin with. Fortunately, my family don't have difficulty with appearance; however, it would be nice to see the children in uniforms. Just by looking you can tell who's household may be a little unfortunate and it would be nice to see everyone looking the same with no judgment. Uniforms actually does limit bullying as the country has seen how serious bullying has become. This school is a prime example to why parents seek charter and private schools because this public system is failing the children of the community. Clearly, the people here settle because they are limited to better resources or hasn't be exposed to know that better is out there. Good luck to future parents and children!

I am truly grateful for the teaching staff at Marshall Street School. I had to remove my son from a catholic grade school do to the fact that even after 2 years of kindergarten and the full acknowledgement of the teacher and principal nothing was done to improve my son's reading disability. I never wanted him out of catholic school however my child needed much more than they were giving. My son's teachers kept me informed with updates and scheduled meetings. My son enjoyed going to school and did not miss one day. Every school could benefit from additional monies. The other students seem content. My whole attitude towards public education has changed. I was raised a catholic school girl but I have seen the light. Thanks to Marshall Street School and teaching staff for improving both my son's and my life. T

The teachers are really good and very dedicated. They seem pretty happy and very able to meet students and parents where they are. The admin is very receptive to parental involvement and suggestions. Many students here are not well prepared for school and yet are engaged, learning, and proud. Student culture can be a bit rough, but discipline is handled directly, consistently, and lovingly. Wish it went to grade 8! Visual Art program is weak. Love the diversity and positive attitudes of staff.
