Academics are fine. Super legalistic and don't care about the students lives once had to kneel down on stage to have my kilt measured, if it's so boarder line that you have to measure to see if it's too short then leave it alone. Extremely white washed, filled with white, middle/upper middle class families and teachers who fail to acknowledge and celebrate diversity. Also not all biblical based teaching. Would never send my child here and would recommend you not either, unless you're a white supremicist that it. FYI I'm a white female former student.

We have sent our kids to DCCS for the last 7 years. Overall it has been a good experience, our kids have done well there, and they both like the school. The teachers have been good, and the curriculum seems decent. I haven't been extremely confident in the academic rigor but its hard to judge that and standardized test scores are very good at least for my oldest child's class. I feel like the Christian principles, chapel, and Bible verse memorization have all been helpful in my kids' character development. Unfortunately I feel like this school is "cost structure challenged" - they have much higher expenses than most other schools, and tuition has gotten too high (rates are on their website, as of 2017, 2 kids (one middle + one elementary) = $27k a year (and that goes higher as they get older). You may qualify for discounts based on your income but I didn't. When you add up the cost of 13 years there per child the grand total is pretty shocking, especially when you calculate how many extra years you will have to work as a result. I am sending my kids to Penn Christian (PCA) next year because of the large tuition increase at DC (DC costs 80% more than PCA). As a point of comparison, Penn Christian has better student/teacher ratios, excellent reviews and standardized test scores, and I suspect a more academically rigorous program especially when it comes to math. On the flip side, DC has nicer buildings/campus and PCA only goes to 8th grade. I do wonder if it is going to be difficult for DC going forward to attract new families, but I sincerely wish the school well and thank them for the last 7 years.

Delaware County Christian School is for parents who want their children at a college prepartory school and also growing in their faith at the same time. It's a warm environment that is diverse, but where everyone has a major thing in common -- the belief in the Lord Jesus Christ!! That is major, espeically in today's culture. Not everyone acts like a "Christian" all the time, but at least they're in an environment where the bible is taught and prayer is going forth, so transformation is possible and expected.

I attended DC from 1st - 12th grade and went on to attend a highly selective liberal arts university and a master's degree program at a top-tier graduate school. While I can affirm that DC prepared me well academically for college and beyond, my biggest take away from the school were actually the way friendships, teachers, activities, and sports shaped who I became. Teachers and coaches became friends and mentors, and cared on and off the field, in and out of the classroom, and taught me valuable life lessons through their influence. While no high school experience is perfect, I learned a lot at DC, and I would recommend it for anyone that would consider a private Christian school a good fit for their child.

DC was one of the best things that happened to our family when we moved to Philly. I have to start out by saying that no one school can meet every student's needs and that no school is perfect. However, DC was perfect for our son. We moved from the west coast in the middle of his sophomore year and he had been in a very large public high school. He was having trouble academically, he hated school, loved athletics and we were not sure he would go to college. DC provided a smaller, more intimate environment that recognized my son's unique needs both academically and spiritually. The academics are challenging, but reasonable. Because DC and our partnership with the faculty and most of all God's hand, my son has high GPA, a high SAT score and he has been accepted to a number of Universities. The athletics are competitive, but kept in perspective. DC is not for everyone, but it has been an answer to our prayers.
