Immanuel Christian School Ratings & Reviews
We love Immanuel Christian School and do everything in our power to keep our children at this great school, even if it means financial sacrifices in other areas. The teachers genuinely love the children and think in terms of the children's best interest. The teachers are approachable and love having parental involvement. The school teaches foundational character and living life in light of a loving, wise God.
We have a High School student who is an easy target. The kids have been extremely kind to him here. He has learned to take responsibility and he has learned to work hard. It was a big transition for him coming from public school where he got straight As and didn't have to work too hard. The small class sizes and individualized attention have really helped him grow in self-confidence. What happens with smaller class sizes is that it allows the teachers to really speak into a student's life and encourage them in who they are. We have seen that transformation happen in his life. We are grateful for the grace and availability by the teachers and staff to always be there to talk things through with us.
Administration is terrible, and condition of the building is way out dated.
My son began in 2nd grade and had bit of a time getting into the groove of things and making friends.. I reminded him he is there to learn not make friends, though he suffered a bit, I also reminded him he has friends, just not there at that school and its still the best education he will get in this area. The academics are tough but I am happy we stuck with it. He is now going into 9th and gets along well with everyone there. I believe his classmates all matured together, including himself. Almost like brothers and sisters that are forced to get along because they have no choice. I am happy to see him learning as much as he is and has, and most all the teachers and secretaries are absolutely amazing, hardworking people, extremely wonderful- kind, loving and patient with every single child! Everyone there is out to help and see the children thrive and grow spiritually as well, which is an important factor you will rarely if ever, find in public schools, from my own experience. My daughter is entering kindergarten and is very excited, as she already knows most everyone there from events her older brother has attended and she has come to grow with the ICS family and ease right in to the academics and wonderful staff there:) This school is definitely a keeper!
i give it 3 stars. The Material And Teachings were very hard and even though many people tried to help me they couldn't get to the point where they could understand the concepts. I had good and bad experiences. Most people there were nice but not all of them you can consider good friends. The one teacher is a really nice guy but he wanted things done in the exact way he wanted them to be done and because of me having Aspergers syndrome i was really confusing and i don't think it was just me because a few students left besides me and i think i was probably the only one with a mild autistic disorder but i don't know because it is getting more common but its more common in boys and i'm a girl. The material in the other teachers room was easier but i feel like he didn't take as much time to show me the concepts. Also I did a Term paper on PITBULL DOGS and i got a 60% just because he assumed i was copying off the internet even though i didn't but because i used more advanced language he assumed i copied and also i did not even though i did use the internet for help. It got me really ticked off since it was a paper i spend most of my days working on it and still failed .
