Numerous kids on probation who are more concerned with bullying and beating up other children than obtaining a good education. But what can you expect from an administration (who are suppose to be their mentors), are too busy not accepting responsibility for their own actions and are simply playing the political game of covering each others' back sides. It's shameful when they are getting paid with taxpayer dollars and don't care about our children's education, safety or well being. From one parent to another, definitely check out other options for your child's education and your family's piece of mind.

East has been ignored by the district in favor for sister school Central Dauphin, but East has better classes and teachers that make a positive influence on the students. Test scores may not reflect that, but it's the truth.

The issue with CD East lies within the school district. For years this school has been ignored by the district in favor of their sister school, Central Dauphin High School. When the school boundaries were last redrawn, the disparity between the two school became even greater, yet no one on the school board or within the administration has the guts to admit it. While I believe the diversity at East High is one of its' greatest attributes, it is also one of its biggest problems. There is a major lack of parental support of the school in most areas such as sports, curriculum, and alumni. The quality of many of the teachers and administrators is poor either because they lack the support of the district or they simply don't have the skills to perform the job they were hired to do. The district has turned a blind eye to these issues for years and show no signs of correcting them. . Financially, there is such a huge gap between the two schools it's almost impossible to comprehend. CD's alumni association raises thousand of dollars annually while East High's alumni struggles to make ends meet. How the school board continues to ignore these inequities amazes and saddens me.

Unfortunately, my son who is a sophmore attends Cd East. He has always had difficulty in certain subjects and for some reason would have hoped that he would have received guidance from teachers and guidance couselors in order to help..you can forget it!! They are no help at all!! I attempt to touch base with his teachers on a regular basis on how he is doing..most of the time no responses. I feel bad for the kids who need the help and want to learn, but cannot and will not receive it. I have sooo much to say and so much has happened at this school but unfortunately cannot mention it on here. Just a nightmare of a high school :-(

As a graduate of East High I would like to say my high school education taught me a lot about the real world. I was exposed to a diverse environment and I am a much better person for it. I was very involved in arts, athletics, and student government. The teaching staff there is very understanding and well rounded. I am now enrolled at Penn State University Park, and my experiences at East prepared me very well for college life. East High school has it downfalls, but so does every other high school in the country. High school is what you make it, and if you chose to be successful as Central Dauphin East High I can promise you will be extremely successful in the real world.
