As a student, I may have a bit of a skewed view on my school, but for being inside, I think it is a great school. Most of the teachers are great, and a few are inspirational, luckily, I have had many of those amazing teachers. Yes there are a few teachers who are just bad at teaching, but you can't expect every teacher in the school to be an amazing, inspirational teacher. For how many teachers we have, I think we have a great number of quality teachers. Going into eleventh grade, I have already had been called to the Guidance office to talk about colleges twice, and the counselors always push to take the more challenging class, which I think helps. If you struggle, almost all teachers have days they stay after to help students, and other students can tutor you, or even other students. I love my school.

I attended Gettysburg Area School District from k-12. This school is so mixed up its hard to rate. There are teachers at the high school that will change your life and teach you with incredible passion. Then there are also teachers that resent the most basic elements of education and should have been removed from the staff roster years ago. Administration is shaky to say the least but there are a few vice principals that know their stuff. I was prepared for college courses by my teachers but was not given college entrance guidance in any form that actually helped. The facilities were incredible and the schools love of the arts was a constant. Discipline was too reserved. As the previous review mentions, a little house cleaning would do a lot of good and a better guidance department.

This school needs some work! Try a real counselor's office for starters. Vice-Principals, I feel your pain. You are qualified and doing your best, and you are not really allowed to use your expertise. Teachers are an odd mix between really good and really bad. Someone needs to clean house.
