Wonderful! My sons Kindergarten teacher Ms. Doughty was amazing and extremely helpful and welcoming when we entered the district mid year.

My experience with my special needs child in this school was terrible. He started half way through the school year in kindergarten, and has been there through third grade. Twice he was allowed to go home with another parent unknown to us. We would pick him up as a car rider, and when we reached the school doors to have him sent to our car he was no where to be found. Only to then be told he said he was going home with another student and they listened to him, a child, and put him in a stranger's car. Thank God the other parent would return him to the school. Also, my son has a nut allergy, and just this year I get a phone call telling me he had purchased and consumed a peanut butter sandwich at lunch. Seriously?!?!?! All this on top of the fact that every IEP meeting was a fight and that I was actually told to expect that he will not reach his grade level bench marks. What are they doing with him all day? This is a terrible school with poor teaching and poor management. I have even gone to observe his class at the principal's request due to his behavior issues. What I saw were children who were to be reading on a carpet along with the teacher, getting up and wandering the room for over ten minutes. Never being told to sit down. Where is the student engagement? Also, when my own child was observed by a special education asministrator for the district it was reported that he did not complete his given assignment because he spent the fifteen minutes alloted for the activity wandering the room "sharpening his pencil". My son is diagnosed with ADHD, so he has focus difficulties. I am not saying what he did was correct, but why didn't his teacher tell him to sit down if when she knows he wanders? I have no faith or trust in this school's ability to educate any child yet alone one with learning and behavior difficulties. I believe that if you read a positive review it is from a parent whose child is advanced and/or well behaved. As it seems those are the only students this school is interested in teaching. But let's be honest, those types of students are usually self motivated and likely learn most things on their own.

I had a terrible experience with this school, in particular one of the First Grade Teachers. She was extremely uncaring about my son's special needs and bullying issues.

Classroom sizes are much bigger than stated here. Kindergarten class sizes are 24-25 students to a class. Hard to learn when you have that many kids to teach how to read.
