Easton Area Ms Campus Grades 7-8 Ratings & Reviews

In my experience as the parent of a 7th grader, I was very disappointed with the amount of bullying that was tolerated on campus. My son was teased for being black as well as accused of being homosexual. When I reported this to his teachers and the 7th grade principal, the principal ignored what we reported to him. It got to the point where my son was assaulted and punished for defending himself. My son is not gay (that I know of). However, the abuse he suffered from his peers was relentless. The sad part is that it was only a handful of the students tormenting him but they were not reprimanded. The teachers were kinder to my son. The only complaint I have about the teachers is that some of them seem to think it's okay for 7th graders to write essays that are grammatically incorrect. After reading a few of my son's essays, I realized I would have to teach him how to construct a proper essay. They would compliment him when I couldn't comprehend what he was writing about. It was not because of his hand-writing, which is quite neat. How will students be able to write at least coherent college papers or even entrance essays if they don't start learning now?

As a new student at EAMS 7/8 this past 2009-2010 school year , the only good thing I can say about this school is the facility was very new. But the system itself it horrible. There are 1500 students in each grade, and coming from a middle school with 500 kids total that was a huge adjustment. With so many students in different academic levels it's almost impossible to build freindships. You hardly see the same person twice. Also the bullying tolerance was pathetic. I was bullied mercilessly my entire year. Partly because, I don't mean to toot my own horn but I'm a very attractive girl, and I didn't give the boys the time of day. But when the bullying got really bad, the teachers did nothing! I had to step in myself and the principal was no help. As far as academics, most of the teachers seemed OK

The teachers were decent and the school was an okay place. The only issue is their punishment policy. Repremand now and ask questions later.

I recently attended Shawnee Middle School and I have to say that it wasn't my best school experience. Some teachers were very young and inexperienced to teach at Honors and C.P. levels. The overall number of kids in the school is ridiculously too high around 1,400 for two grades. It is hard to get any attention when you have 700 kids in your grade.

Some teachers are excellent when it comes to doing there jobs but unfortunately some seem to have absolutley no clue about what there doing.
