AIS is a remarkable school for girls PreK-12. I have four daughters with very different personalities and learning styles and AIS provided them all with a excellent college preparatory education. The innovative Center of Advancement for Girls at AIS researches best practices in girls' education, and the new athletic and dining facilities are amazing. This is a great school that is poised for an even greater future.

Our oldest daughter graduated in 2011 and was fantastically prepared for a very competitive college. Currently we have a freshman and a junior. A I is not a perfect school but it is one of the best institutions around for helping young girls grow into confident well spoken, polite and thoughtful young women. Academics are challenging, arts and sports offer an opportunity to excel and learn life time skills for those who take the opportunity. It is a private girls only School, so Dad's have to chose to participate, but the investment helps teach young women how to become young leaders who advocate for their own education and so become life long learners. A I is a place that challenges and prepares young girls and by 12 grades unbelievably mature young women walk out their doors. If. You want to help your daughter grow into a leader capable of having options to succeed in the area in life they choose to pursue stop in and visit the Agnes Irwin School. For my family this is truly a special place. If you want to see how young women become leaders in the field they pursue stop and and visit A I. This is a special place. we are finishing up our 31st year with our three daughters.

Heard great things about AI and interviewed there when we moved to the area. Everything seemed perfect....a little too perfect, to the point of feeling like I had stepped into a school in Stepford. They pursued us relentlessly which I attributed to their hope to check the ethnic box without giving out a scholarship. Uncomfortable vibe.

Academically, in the core subjects, the school is very strong including multiple languages. Extra curricular activities are weak; art, theater, music and sports. Lacks diversity. State they are working on it, but Baldwin gets the diversity due to their scholarship program and train station location. AIS doesn't offer this. Teachers work very hard to educate. Dedicate, each and every one. Impressive support staff. Office administration and Heads of each school excluding head of entire school (Sally) are highly paid, unprofessional with no follow through. The extent of their ability is to give great speeches and empty promises. Going through major construction (2013) so expect tuition to go up. Tuition is currently between $25k-$30k, depending on the grade. Goes up $500 per year. Most, not all, girls are bratty and entitled. Parents have extensive money. Girls very prepared for college but not the world; a rude awakening. World doesn't consist of blonde hair, skinning, blue eyes, caucasian, extremely wealthy people.

AIS isn't really about the education. The focus is on money and moms. As a mom, I can't go to the carpool line in without doing a complete makeover , or else I get a snarky comment from other moms. The parent population consists mostly of stay at home main line moms and fathers who work at a real estate business or law firm but are wealthy from their parents money. The girls only babble about the latest fashion, trends, and devices. They brag about who has the biggest house. We recently moved to the area, and m daughter is learning martial that she learned last year at a public school. I asked the teach if she could be more challenged, and was told that she was doing well what would the need for challenge be? The athletics program mind as well not exist, because the coaches are horrible but avgthe same time all they care about is winning. The arts isn't strong at all and does not push girls. Please don't make our mistake and send your daughter to this school.
