Despite past issues in previous years at GCS, 2016-17 year has been great so far, a new principal started last year as our old one had to move. Things are going well. The principal listens to what you have to say and fixes any problems so they don't keep escalating. I have no issues with teachers. The Spanish here is difficult but only because our teacher wants us to actually learn the language. Not all seniors take blowoff classes either. There are cases like Honors Chemistry and AP Literature taught by a college professor. Mrs. Salyards is the super intendant and loves us all and truly cares about us getting to know God and love Him. Our bible curriculum has been changed this year and it's also going well. Don't let anything from previous years keep you from coming. Things have changed.

My son was a student at GCS k- 12. He had a wonderful experience, got a great education, made lifelong friends, and grew in his relationship with the Lord.

GCS has really gone downhill in this past year. There is a total lack of discipline. There are more bullies in this school than in public school. Our child has even been picked on by a sarcastic teacher. If you go to anyone about it, your concerns aren't taken seriously. There is rampant favoritism as the same kids are chosen for things, it's a very exclusive place versus an all inclusive school. A huge clique runs this school, both students and and their helicopter parents, and if you child isn't in the clique, they are excluded. It's very tough to see your child become more isolated in a small school. Bottom line we have found it's a social club, not a school, and the focus on Christianity is sorely lacking. One Bible class featured a lot of sex ed talk and veered into the teacher's personal dating life- I'm still not sure what that has to do with the bible. As for academics, it just gets diluted the higher in grade you go, the seniors totally blow off their year and too much focus is placed on their week long senior trip(no other school in area does a weeklong trip). The elementary program is decent, but don't stay for middle or high school.

This school is a joke. The academics are weak and several teachers barely teach. A few teachers are dedicated but outnumbered by the incompetence of others. This place is far from family, if your child isn't part of a clique then they will have a tough time as Social life rules the school. If you're looking for extended Sunday school babysitting 5 days a week, then this place is most definitely for you! If you're looking for challenging academics go elsewhere! And if you want Christian education, go to church! As it stands, our child has observed some very UN-Christian behavior in this school from both students and teachers gossiping during class, not to mention vulgar language flowing out of other student's mouths. It's a very sad excuse for a school and we expected more from a Christian school. Boy, were we fooled.
