As a parent with two children at BG and as person involved in the teaching profession I can say that I am very pleased with the education my kids are receiving. The quality and care shown by the teachers at BG greatly exceeds what I have seen in the government schools. The teachers know every child's name they ask about events in their life, teachers are involved in school activities. It is more than just a job to them it is their community. Also, while no school is bully free it seems that for the most part every one has a place at BG. I spent my daughters first year there working in the lunch room, just so I could check out the atmosphere. There did not seem to be the usual "cool people's" tables ect. Also because the school is so small everyone has an opportunity to play sports. You don't have to "try out" for a team if you want to join a team you join it. Your even allowed to play two sports in a semester. I also love the fact that every class opens with a brief prayer. It only takes 10to 15 seconds but it sets the tone for the class.

Lots of bullies in the school including the teachers. There is nothing Catholic in BGHS. I have my son and daughter there for the lack of Christian High schools in the area. Not worth the money.

My husband and I have put 3 children through BGHS, and although no school is perfect, BG is far superior to any public school that I know of in the area. I believe their academic program is very good and improving, with partnerships at two area colleges. They also offer AP courses as well. The proof is in the pudding, both of my older chldren are doing above average in college and adjusted to the work and routine fairly easily. My third child is about to embark and I am not worried about his adjustment either. They offer alot of extras by way of sports and other interests that most children should be able to find something of interest to them. The social atmosphere among students seems better than average and the faculty all are more than qualified. Parents are encouraged to become involved, but on limited levels.

We have had two children at Bishop Guilfoyle over the past four years. Academically, Guilfoyle has challenged them, and prepared them for college studies. In addition, both students have enjoyed varsity sports (football and soccer), chorus, and the drama club.

This school is excellent in academics with over 90% placement in college. The size is small which allows for great interaction between students and faculty and allows for participation in many extracurricular activities.
