Louis E Dieruff High School Ratings & Reviews

Dieruff staff are terrific I went to Dieruff and so did my kids. It is not just this school but the whole Allentown School district that have a problem because of transient students , that the scores are so low. Parents constantly move/ change schools and then do not get involved in their education. These are the parents that want the school to do it all, health care/educate /provide school materials, even paper and pencils; they are the 1st to cry no fair and 'Not my johnny-he would never do that or fix him yourself." Parents get involved with your child's education and encourage them to go out for sports or other activities. They will feel more involved in their own education. Teachers will not feel like they have to 'dumb' down the lessons then.

Dieruff High School is a great place to work. We may not have all of the fancy equipment that the wealthier schools have, but we do have a dedicated staff that works together to provide the best education possible for our students. Our administrators are some of the greatest people in the world to work with. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are a terrific group of kids who appreciate what the staff at Dieruff is doing to provide them with the best education possible. As a member of School Council (our PTA), we are striving to increase membership to include more parents, school staff (teachers, secretaries, custodial, etc.), business representatives, and community members. Our goal at Dieruff is to create a community of shareholders who work together to make Dieruff a school that prepares students for the 21st century.

I am so happy I went to Dieruff High school it is a place that prepares a person greatly for the real world. All the diversity can really help a person in college and in life. Mr. moniz took over this year and has already started changing the school he will surely lead to be one of the best in the Lehigh Valley in every sense and it will most Definitely be better than Allen

As a former student of l.E.Dieruff, I was inadequately prepared for college. The education was subaverage, due to the lack of administrative interest, teacher burnout, and the overall quality of the student body. I would never send my child to any school in the asd!

When I went to Dieruff (w/Sabo) we had husky pride that couldn't be broken. Despite low overall test scores, helps students with good values flourish. It is helpful to students in AP courses, granted you don't really get to know a lot of people outside of the pack of 30 you travel with for the greater part of the day except during elective classes, I believe that the exposure to such varying economic, ethnic, political, and religious backgrounds prepared me for more than college; I was prepared for the real world.
