Our first impression was at the back to school registration where we showed up and they didn't have ANY of our paperwork ready. They claimed it had been summer and they were getting back to school and that we never paid the money to hold our spot. So they scrambled around and found our application and we signed some papers and paid the $300 activity fee. The staff was unorganized, rude and undermining the entire time. Fast forward to the first day of school. Nightmare drop off system where parents are "required" to volunteer. Pick up was worse! It took 30 mins to sit in the pick up line and there is very little parking if you feel the need to go into the building (all the surrounding buildings had very clear NO MITCH PARKING posted everywhere!) Our daughter said the first day of school was ALL about rules and procedures. By the next morning our daughter didn't want to go. It took one day for her to not want to go to this school. By day 3 it was like dropping your child off at prison with no choice but thinking you made the right choice since this is such a “good school.” We ultimately decided this school was not a good fit for our family. Once we told the director of the school we were not going to continue she was very cold and uncaring. To top off our horrible experience with this school they would NOT REFUND A SINGLE penny of the $300 we had paid. I can understand them keeping a deposit but they kept the ENTIRE amount and said there was nothing they can do since we signed the papers at registration. Our advice to you if you are thinking about this school is to pay the minimum up front and make monthly payments all year just in case your experience turns out as bad as ours did. If we had paid the minimum we wouldn't be out the $300.

My child will be in his 3rd year at MITCH next year and we have been SO very happy with our decision to place him there. The small classrooms means each and every child gets the attention they need and the time for teachers and administrators to notice if they need additional assistance or more challenging material. They have created programs for the students needing to be more challenged in different areas, a feat when you consider the lack of district and financial support. I have also seen students needing additional support get it, before the red tape of IEP's are available. MITCH will find a way to help our children succeed. My child is proud of what he learns, and readily shares things that I am surprised by. He enjoys it!The slight inconvenience of not having a bus is actually a bonding experience we use to spend some time together without screens. The lack of green grass will soon be solved by the upcoming addition and development of the Foundation Garden next door. The playground is more than substantial enough for our small school, and I have never heard a complaint from my child about a lack of play time, or being forced to sit for long periods. The school works really hard to provide different clubs and experiences for the kids, and we've added a language club, a yoga club, and science club to our offerings this year. While a significant effort is put into fundraising each year, it does not seem vastly different from most other schools or organizations, this fundraising is also critical to bridge the gap left by the reduced funding we get because we are a charter. The school has a brilliant community. When I visit, or volunteer, all the faces are smiling. I was so turned off by the community public school when we attended kindergarten open house and all of the staff members seemed so displeased to be there, and scowled at me when I discussed my dilemma of a private kinder vs. their public school. I chose a private kinder!I truly believe that when I chose MITCH for my child, I made the BEST choice.

MITCH has been a great school for our child. Every child thrives differently in various environments. Some kids do very well in a highly structured setting and some do not. If your child needs a highly structured environment, then MITCH is perfect for you. I love that my child is actually learning valuable information and not just being groomed to test well.

Every student is pushed to their fullest potential by enthusiastic teachers who love being there! The real magic of it is that the kids enjoy their curriculums so much that learning isn't a chore for my two kids, We are so proud to be a part of this positive community at MITCH. As parents, we really appreciate the positive reinforcement that is consistent at MITCH as well as their efforts to teach respecting oneself and others.

I was very disappointed in our experience here. The children are given very little independence or time to play, (even in kindergarten) and are expected to sit quietly for long periods of time. The school lacks many resources (like green space outside or a library).
