In the six years my children attended the school, our experience was predominantly positive but often inconsistent. There has been considerable turnover with teachers, which is in addition to the turnover of principals and priest (3 of each in 6 years). There is a lot of love in this community and the parents comprise a very involved and tightly knit group of people. You will be most successful here if you are an active volunteer and, ideally, are a parishioner in order to better connect with the other families. A high number of the staff positions are occupied by parents, many of whom do not hold licenses or certifications (which may not be required but is highly desirable to demonstrate they have relevant experience beyond simply parenting/being caregivers). Parents working at the school isn't bad, but it can lead to favoritism and biased handling of the inevitable and occasional conflicts that arise between children. Tuition rates are moderate, possibly the most affordable private school in the area. Class size is capped around 23-25 although most classes are much smaller because the school has difficulty retaining students. This is not a good school if your child has special needs or needs extra help -- aides are not well-qualified to assist with that and teachers don't have the time/resources. That said, years after my children left the school, they still deeply love the school, parish, their friends, and former teachers - the school is great at building attachment and relationships.

Community of parents, parish and staff is wonderful. My children were attended a different private school in the past and their experience has been much more positive. Teachers care about the students and learn life long skills from teachers and students alike. Curriculum is very challenging and creates a love of learning. This is a school where all students know each other; 8th graders learn from the kindergartners and kindergartners learn from the 8th graders, and this learning environment is the same across all grades. Lots of activities for students to participate in, including choir, band, art, chess club, CYO athletics. Overall positive experience and a place we like to call "home".

St. Francis is a really great school. Our public school is rated a 9 but the academics at St. Francis are worth it. The teachers and staff are truely invested in the children. St. Francis holds the children to high standards of kindness and respect. I can say without hesitation that of all my son's peer groups the St. Francis bunch are truly caring. They are great friends and the older students are fantastic role models. In a world that makes innocence and sweetness a rare thing St. Francis is a safe place for children to learn and grow with exceptional academics and strong moral character.

My children have been at St. Francis school for the past 3 years and we are very pleased with everything about this school. St. Francis offers more than just accelerated academics. They offer art, music, physical education and Spanish. Most importantly they incorporate the Catholic teachings of faith and service to others in all areas of their education. The character of St. Francis students is something to be proud of.
