Poor. Actively househunting to give my intellectually gifted but high energy son a better shot in a different school before his experience at Maplewood turns him off of education for the rest of his life.

Love our community, the parent involvement, the teachers. Love what our school stands for.

Teachers, staff and district put higher emphasis on dance and art than math and science. Children are shielded from the skill sets needed for future success. Staff is over sensitive that there feeling may be hurt by students and parents with legitimate complaints.

Yes, the class sizes are big, but the teachers are amazing as well as the community.

This school has no heat in the portable this year, while the main building has remained over 80 degrees with the windows open all winter. Average class sizes at this school are between 30 and 35 kids per teacher. Next year (2017-18) there will be almost 40 second graders per teacher, and are talking about converting the office and teachers lounge into classrooms. The dance teacher walked out, the principal is checked out. The PTA has asked school children to bring in their piggy banks to help save for a covered play area that doesn't even benefit students. Why is a school raising money for a covered play area when the main building heat doesn't work, there is lead in the drinking fountains, and they are short on teaching staff? We're pulling our kids out at the end of this year and moving to a better school.
