Lent Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

My daughter is now 4 years attending Lent Elementary in the Spanish Immersion program. Since kindergarten, 3 out of 4 of her teachers have been excellent, and the 1 teacher was fine, just not very experienced. The class sizes are small and the teachers are able to get to know their students very well for this reason. She has always received consistent homework to be completed either daily or weekly, depending on the teacher. I'm sure Lent has it's issues, but our firsthand experience for years has been solid. We are about to send our second child there as well!

Over all pretty good experience, love the idea of being able to help other kids and watch my son grow and mature in life

While the small handful.of teachers that do care make a difference, the lack of solid leadership from the administration has negatively impacted this school, the children and the community. There is a strong and active PTA as well as a site council that formed in the latter half of the year. The site council has been diligently working to hold the Asst Superintendent and the senior director of the Franklin cluster accountable for bettering our school. That being said, I love our community and the school, we ku St need good, solid leadership to turn the academics around.

The school is sub par. There is little to no supervision in or out of class. The immersion program is all the school has going for it and still there are massive problems. Despite parents and a few teachers who are committed to the school, the new administration has done little to help move the school forward. There is a massive lack of respect for parents who have concerns or ideas. Bullying issues run rampant, especially in the younger grades and there is even bullying by some of the adults. The culture of the school fosters lack of respect for parents invested in their children's education, safety, and experience. It's a sad and unfortunate thing to see since most of the parents are hard working, kind, and love their children. Past kindergarden, there's no reason to send your child here. Heaven forbid your child is active, has ADHD, or doesn't fit into the mold needed to push everyone through the education mill. This neighborhood is great, but the school doesn't deserve even one star.
