Excellent. We have been here since preschool. Such a safe and supportive community. Excellent services and resources. They cater so well to working parents - excellent care before and after school - on site, with creative programming. Art, music and gym are impressive. Academics are robust and creative. Beautiful facilities. Excellent community of families. I would highly recommend this school to any family that is french, or wants to learn french. Nice blend of french and american families. Administration has strong communication and vision. Exciting field trip opportunities, including several overnight options starting in 2nd grade! Impressive place. So grateful to be a part of it.

Our daughter has been attending LΓÇÖEtoile for five years, and we couldnΓÇÖt have imagined a better school for her. From the beginning, the leadership team was forward thinking and planned for the future. The staff and her teachers have been wonderful and have created a safe and warm environment for her to learn. She looks forward to going to school every day because of her teachers and the positive experience. We have been very pleased over the years with her French and were delighted when our French relatives commented how well she spoke the language two years ago. LΓÇÖEtoile combines a strong immersion academic program with innovative experiential learning. This year, our daughter had a biking unit where they biked around in Portland, learned about bike safety and how fix common problems, combined it with art (drawing the Portland landscape), and learned geometry (wheels, spokes, and angles). The before and after school programs are also terrific, giving kids the option of getting help with homework, preparing for the DELF exam (French proficiency diploma), or exploring new activities. LΓÇÖEtoile is a true gem!

L'Etoile French Immersion School provides an extraordinarily strong elementary school (and preschool) experience for families who are fortunate enough to learn about the school and enroll their children. The school is perhaps northwest Oregon's best-kept secret in world-class education, and given its relative affordability is probably the best value in the area as well. Our son is now in the middle of his sixth and final year at the school, having started in Kindergarten (Grande Section) in 2011. He has been happy at L'Etoile throughout his time at the school, and we couldn't be more proud of his academic achievements and the young person he is becoming. We credit much of our son's personal growth to L'Etoile's excellent instruction and the positive influence of the school community. L'Etoile is a special place -- warm and caring, yet rigorous and intellectually demanding ΓÇô- and our son has thrived in this environment. He is a proficient reader, writer, and speaker of both English and French (working well above grade level in both languages), and has solid foundational skills in science, math, literature, history, social studies, music, art, and physical education. The school is accredited by France's Ministry of Education, and follows the well-rounded French curriculum in a full-immersion setting, using French as the primary language of instruction, but including some regular, focused instruction in English.I encourage you to investigate L'Etoile for yourself if you are seeking a school with small class sizes; a welcoming, caring community that draws families from around the world; experienced, dedicated, attentive teachers and staff; thoughtful, clear-sighted leadership focused steadfastly on the school's core academic mission; after-school care and enrichment offerings ranging from sports to computer programming; and a full, rich curriculum that fosters critical thinking and imparts a global perspective on humanity's diverse cultural traditions. You will be pleased with what you find at L'Etoile. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had an opportunity to participate in this remarkable school community. Letting others know about it is the least that we can do to say "Thank you".

The teachers and staff at L'Etoile are tremendous, this includes the art, music, and amazing sports teachers. They are wonderful individuals and truly competent and inspiring pedagogues. This is the best French immersion program in town, and the friendliest, most supportive community to boot!

My children will be going into the third year at L'Etoile this fall. We've had a wonderful time with the school and I cannot recommend it enough. My son started in Kindergarten (Grand Section) and the teacher for that grade, Mme Carine, is excellent. She did everything think a good K teacher should do. There is ample outdoor time, art, and music. My daughter started with preschool, Petite Section, and has loved her two years at L'Etoile. As a parent who doesn't speak French (my husband, however, does) I have found L'Etoile to be very user friendly. The staff and teachers are knowledgeable and approachable, and I know my children are getting an excellent education. I like that the classroom size is small, that the atmosphere is both warm and orderly, and the price is reasonable. I cannot imagine a better place for my children to attend!
