the principle seems to be the major problem there. in fact she punishes the kids there for any problem regardless of time lapses after the fact. for example a child beat up another child and she punishes the child. then a few weeks go by she decides oh the punishment wasn't enough have to call the parent and inform them i decided to go ahead and charge them with more punishment stay in office, suspend or whatever works at the time, even though that child has been very good over the course of the few weeks and has been no trouble at all. I call that double jeopardy!! In a court of law the judge would throw out the case and declare a mistrial! otherwise classes and teachers great! WORSE principle ever!!!

It's funny that everyone's children are doing much better, yet the principal seems to be a problem. I had the pleasure of working with her at the school she worked at before Davis, and saw the kind of results that can come from a community that cares about its students education. The problem that I see here is there are no parents anywhere in the school except in the office when dealing with some sort of problem. Teachers and principals can only do so much, and the fact of the matter is, your principal is literally losing sleep over your children...are you? Look at the size of your pta versus before she came. Look at the test results on this site, before she came. Look at Reynolds school district, the superintendent, and what is really going on, concerned parent. Actually, just get involved!

My youngest son has gone to Davis since the 1st grade and is now about to graduate the 5th grade and move on to middle school. He has ADHD and is difficult at times, but this school has been great with him. It upsets me that they have such a low rating, my son is top of his class and has not lacked for anything during his time at Davis. I do feel the school could use a new principal, she just isn't doing the job in my opinion. I have 3 kids and of all the elem. schools that we have been to this school is by far the best and I wouldn't change a thing. The staff and teachers are wonderful, they believe in helping the kids not just pushing them aside.
