Grant Union is incredible. The staff are so caring and will spend all the time in the world helping students individually if they need it. It honestly felt like one big family because the teachers are so genuinely concerned about the students and their lives outside of the classroom. I would say the only negative is that the sports funding seems to be a little bit unfair (too much given to sports like football and basketball, not enough to dance, wrestling, etc.)

We have found this school to be just about as good as it can be given its size and budget. Administrators and teachers really know the students, deal with problems, and do their best to expose students to bigger experiences than would ordinarily be possible in a small, isolated town. I never worry that my kids are unsafe here. That said, it's a small school with limited resources. The TAG program is non-existent. Any enrichment depends on whether a teacher is willing to exert him or herself. Some are, and some aren't.

Excellent school for our children. The staff has done an excellent job with limited resources. Students who have graduated from GUHS have attended colleges throughouth the United States including Stanford, Brown, Havard and the United States Air Force Acedemy.

As a student (graduating 2011) I found this school to be one of the best that I've ever attended. The school is always clean and the staff is very friendly. There may be some hard feelings toward this school because the staff pushes the students to do their best, resulting in bitter feelings for those students who don't make an effort to do their best. This could explain the review before mine, and probably a few more to come. Regardless, Grant Union High School is a wonderful school, and if you're considering enrolling your student here, I reccommend that you do.

This school being very small has a closeness to the community that other schools don't have. The students, parents and staff are all very close and there is rarly ever any violence, drug or alcohol problems that come up in this high school which is very rare for many schools. The teachers are some of the best in Oregon and actually care about teaching and filling the students with knowlegde. And since many of the students know each other or have grown up together they all treat each other with the respect that they all deserve. If you are moving close to it I would recommend this school especially if youo prefer a learning enviornment that is smaller more intimate and with a student body that is very outgoing.
