Started Kindergarten this year at Ridgeline and we couldn't be happier with the classroom montessori education and social learning that is occurring. There is a very community feel to the school and tons of parent involvement. So far, we love Ridgeline!

Such a supportive environment for our children. We are so lucky to be a part of not only this school, but also the school community.

Our daughters have been at this school since kindergarten and we intend to finish out middle school here. We have been delighted with their experiences and education. In seven years, we have had the joy of having our girls with many different teachers and they have all been terrific! Our girls have been encouraged to pursue topics which interest them, and which lead to holistic learning and new ideas. They are challenged but also peered mentored, which is so cool for them (especially when they get to be the mentees). For a public charter, we feel spoiled, like our kids are at a private school. Fantastic office staff and great administrative staff, too. I'm gushing a bit but I can't help myself. Ridgeline Montessori is more than just our daughters' school; it is our family's core community where we are all engaged and active learners; even as parents, we get to learn so much. If you are thinking about checking out this school, do yourself and your kids this favor.

We had a terrible experience at this school. My son was miserable because he unfortunately was put with a mean unsupportive teacher. Some of the teachers at Ridgeline Montessori and the principal take it upon themselves to incorrectly diagnose students (little boys in particular) with disorders and refer them for special education on these grounds. Our experience was such that a teacher told me she "did not have the time to teach my son how to be in a Montessori classroom" because he transferred from another school. While gifted at most schools, he was referred incorrectly for special education after only 5 weeks of school and the teacher told me my son had a developmental disorder. After hundreds of dollars of evaluations, I was proven correct that he had no disorders and was in fact gifted. The teachers are very inconsistent from classroom to classroom. Because of this, some students receive an excellent educations in supportive environments while others get oppressive, poor educations from very mean, quietly authoritarian teachers. The principal is not friendly to families, does not understand how to relate to children and is very cold/difficult to work with. The charter review board should be taking a special interest in evaluating this school for equity of the education that they are providing as it is very inconsistent from student to student. Montessori education is suppose to be about educating the whole child and meeting children where they are at so they can succeed to their own personal full potential. That is not what this school is doing. They are judging students based on their preconceived abilities. Most students who succeed at this school do it because they didn't not need the help or support of any teacher or administrator.

Wonderful teachers and dynamic classrooms... Ridgeline Montessori has instilled a love of learning in our daughters and challenged them academically. Truly, an amazing learning community.
