We could not wait to get our daughter out of this school. There is a difference between child lead education and letting the kids do what ever they want. There were a number of instance in which children were left unsupervised for extended periods of time. The security in the building was horrible. Anyone could walk right in and not be questioned. The aftercare was basically Lord of the Flies. The Teachers give off the impression that they would rather be doing other things. There are probably worse schools out there, but there are definitely better.

Far Horizons is the only Internationally certified Montessori in the Northwest. It is a fantastic school, the classrooms are well organized, clean and well stocked with appropriate materials. Teachers are great and the owner Kerry, is very dedicated to quality education. The cost of the school is very reasonable considering the quality you get. I didn't give a rating of "great" because there was a student with behavior issues that took much too long to address, but this year it was determined that they leave the school, no reasons given which was fine with us! This is the best place to put your kids if you want them to be critical thinkers and get a solid start on their educational path. Highly recommend it!

We had our extremely bright, inquisitive son in public schools in another town for 3 weeks and he went from loving to learn to hating to go to school. We looked at several public and private options and decided that even though it was a 30 minute drive, it was worth the effort. We have not been disipointed at all. The learing environment is exceptional. The kids all love and respect Miss Kerry and the rest of the staff. The kids are all so well behaved and really support each others learning experience. We just moved into Eugene and even though the public schools are better here and we considered moving him out of Far Horizons, in the end we felt that the learning and development that he gets there is just exceptional and worth the extra cost. On the practical side, the costs are extremely reasonable.

I am very grateful my children went to Far Horizons. They had a great experience both in their primary years as well as through out elementary. My daughter will transition to middle school next year well ahead of her peers both emotionally and academically. The teachers are caring and always have time to discuss any issue.
