We are a military family and have been to many schools. Broadmoore is a really fantastic school, and I highly recommend it. My kids have done 3rd-6th grade there. Teachers have been amazing! The school is very test centered, but I have yet to find a school that isn't. Very high standards for academics here. The assistant principal and counselor are very student centered and create a wonderful community. I agree that the principal is a weak-link at the school, however, the teachers and community more than make up for it.

My daughter just completed kindergarten at Broadmoore and I could not be more pleased with this school! Her kindergarten teacher , Mrs. Martinez, has vast experience and is amazing with kids this age. The counselors and other teachers on staff such as the SLP know my daughter by name and welcome her to school each day. This school has a whole child mindset and and is not soley focused on test scores. We have been redistricted but I am hoping and praying we can get a transfer back to Broadmoore. It truly is a wonderful school all around!

My son has gone to Broadmoore for 4 years now. The teachers there have been pathetic, I constantly hear excuses that they have too many students, not enough funding, or not enough time to teach my son appropriately. This school is 100% focused on testing, only interested in getting state funding. The principal is a political yes-woman/career ladder climber. I have had to get the city superintendent and even state education department involved in several of the stupid decisions they make. From political forms they send home, unauthorized questionaires about family business, they even had a footrace to decide who gets in to all day kindergarten. I moved to this area because of the good reviews, and then the neighborhood has turned into a rental heavy crime ridden area. Not a good school at all. If this school wanted to improve - get rid of the principal, focus on education and stop complaining about funding and crowding. This is a city issue, not something the parents can do anything about. Politics do not belong in public education of my kids.

Great school, good teachers, but poor Principal... they should make a few changes for sure.

Broadmoore has been such a let down... The principal is very superficial and the staff along w/ the PTA is oblivious to anyone outside of their cliques. Every single time I go to pick up my kids, I see the same group of women just hanging around (either in the office, entryway, or somewhere in the school). My child's 2nd grade teacher always had her college aged daughter hanging out in class. What is even more upsetting to me, is that my kids got all A's last year but when we worked at home this summer... they did NOT know what they should have known. I mentioned this throughout the school year when they struggled w/ homework but the teachers assured me they were doing great at school. We bought our house because of the school and now I wish I could get them out of there. Broadmoore needs to take some lessons from Northmoor. The principal and teachers actually care for the kids and take the time to get to know them. Northmoor put education first but made learning fun. The world needs more principals like Mr. R at Northmoor. AGAIN, BROADMOORE COULD LEARN A LOT FROM THEM!
