We love this school. My son was miserable in public school in another state. Cried everyday because the gifted program was one day a week for 45 minutes. So the rest of the week he was bored. Within a few weeks of starting at LAAS he was back to a happy child who was excited to go to school everyday. This school has been our best decision ever.

Lawton Academy of Arts and Sciences is truly a special place. My wife and I frequently think about the struggles many military families with school-age children face. Military towns do not always have great (or even above average) public schools, and private schools are often either unaffordable or otherwise out of reach. We believed Lawton almost perfectly fit this description. That is, until we discovered LAAS. Some friends of ours recommended the school, and we were anxious to visit and see for ourselves. As we concluded our tour last year, we shared a moment of true joy. We were so impressed by the both campus and the educational philosophy. This was particularly reassuring given the many challenges public schools in Oklahoma face. While every school has challenges, the schoolΓÇÖs challenge was in how best to educate and develop students. From our perspective, that represents the truest form of nobility in the education profession. We knew from that moment on that our children would learn, grow and develop in ways above and beyond what public schools could offer. Our two children enrolled in the Fall of 2016, and the initial moment of joy we experienced during our tour repeated itself many times over the course of the school year. Not only were the kids learning classroom lessons, they were learning about life, and caring for others, and about being responsible. As we reflect back on this school year, we feel incredibly thankful to the school and such wonderful faculty such as Mrs. Austin,Mrs. Puccino, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnson.. They have educated our children, invested in their lives and made them better citizens and family members.

Last year I was a parent at this school and this year I am a parent and also part-time teacher. As a military wife (and also as an army brat myself) I have experienced a lot of schools over the years and this is, hands down, the best school I have ever seen. The class sizes are small, the teachers truly do care about the students, and good character traits are taught and encouraged. I have four very different children at this school and all of them are thriving. The teachers instruct their weaknesses and encourage their strengths. The school stays true to its name, and the students participate in a wide variety of artistic and scientific/mathematical endeavors. The teachers are all great at thinking outside the box and relating academics to everyday life.

I am so impressed with this school! The MathCounts team competed against both Elgin and Tomlinson, and 5 other schools from the local area in a mock competition at OSSM recently. Our middle school team was very advanced compared to these schools who have a much larger student population to pull from. Our school consistently scores high on the ACT, showing ALL of our graduating students are ready for college algebra and college English, and they are also higher in state averages in college social studies, and college biology by 25%-45%. My child in 7th grade was learning things in science this year I didn't learn until I was a junior in high school while taking chemistry, and I went to high school in a state very well known for their high educational standards. Yes, they do indeed teach both chemistry and physics here. This school is challenging, and with the small class size they get individualized attention. I love how they balance their course work with music, art, and encourage public speaking, and performances. A very challenging, and well rounded school!

I would like to THANK every Teacher and staff memeber in LAAS! This school and everyone involved go above and beyond for each student! This is a school however we are also a family! My son not only getting an outstanding education he is also learning personal responsability, humanity, kindess and love for his fellow man. The Teachers at LAAS are genuine, they care about each and every student, they know these kids and take the time with them. I tell everyone about this wonderful school! Your child and/or children will be challenged, and will be prepared not only for college but for life! As a single mother, I am so grateful that my son has this school and the staff to confide in and talk to. All of you are OUTSTANDING! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are all one of a kind!
