"This is mostly based on just one year in the school with one teacher, but the experience was wholly negative. There are state laws in place concerning children with learning disabilities but my child was treated in such a manner that he entered Eisenhower as an A-B honor roll student for three years running and ended up almost failing this year. Rules were put into place to help my child succeed but my child's teacher seemed to feel they were a burden. There was even a day that I was at the school and saw her take away a child's ""chair privileges,"" forcing them to kneel at their desk or sit on the floor behind their desk for the rest of the day (3 plus hours), which really hurts a child with learning disabilities focus on what is being taught and puts a target on them for bullies who look for kids who are different. It also doesn't help that we filed for his IEP in September and it wasn't put into effect until the following April -- when it is supposed to be completed within 60 days. When there were problems, the counselor and principle were there to talk and set up meetings but nothing was done to speed up the process and nothing was ever done about how the teacher treated my child -- or other kids in the class, based on my experience the day I was there observing. I would never, ever, want another parent's child to be in that atmosphere and can't recommend this school at all to anyone whose child has special needs."

It was a great start to my future. I am now an accomplished physician, and the balanced education I received from Ike Elem got me started. I have to admit, I had some excellent teachers (Howard, Karen) and some horrible ones at Ike, but they rounded my early life experiences...

All 3 of my boys have gone there, currently 1 has moved up to middle school and now only 2 remain. Their teachers are caring and will go out of their way to try to help the children. They have teachers Aides in most if not all the classes, this gives the students an additional person to call on if they are having issues on something. In my experience the people there, not just the teachers will go that extra mile to ensure it to be a safe and educational experience. One of my boys had a fight and did not get on the bus, or so the principal was told. Anyhow she drove to our neighborhood and helped look for him until we recieved word that he had gotten to school. Above & beyond.

I have two boys that go there. The faculty is great and care about your childs education. The PTA and booster clubs try to get the kids and parents involved in extra activities.

My son started his kindergarten year at Eisenhower last year! His teacher set an example that all teachers should want to follow. She made me feel completely comfortable with leaving my child in the care of someone other than myself. Her love for her students is absolutely amazing and this year is no different. Not only are the teachers amazing, but the staff there is also wonderful. They are always helpful!
