Lee Burneson Middle School Ratings & Reviews

The school isn't terrible but teachers need to do a better job with the students education. I am currently a student at Lee Burneson middle school. I have talked to the school counselor multiple times about attending different (easier) classes. The school counselor has done nearly nothing for me except try to get me an IEP. My teachers do not ask if I need help at anytime. I have a fear of asking for help due to a disorder. I do not recommend students to attend this school unless the student is a very advanced learner. Students who have ADHD or ADD will not get much help and will be left struggling.

Its the end of the school year, but reflecting on the parent/building administration and staff has given me great pause. Many sent emails for teacher and principal inquiries were dismissed or under addressed. The teacher conference I attended unfortunately included an administrator , Assistant Principal, for reasons never given. I wanted a regular conference not an unwarranted supervised conference. Many of her teachers were not there especially the one I needed to talk to. My conference was very uneasy and felt intimidating. I talked to the Superintendent who said he would address the situation fully and speak to Paul Wilson directly. This harassment should never happen to any parent. I am very reasonable person and a teacher myself which makes the matter even more insulting. Communication must become a larger priority in this school.

The school's gifted program is top-notch, rated one of the best in the state. The average and the struggling student may fall between the cracks. The school's communication needs vast improvements. Parents & students need to stay on top of day-to-day assignments & activities.

This school is great! They are very organized as well. The principal Mr. Wilson is amazing. My child came from a catholic school and we were concerned, however my son is getting a much better education and I believe will be better prepared for high school. I am grateful to all of the teachers at this school that have helped my child become an independently successful individual.
