Forest Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

I'm not sure where some of these reviews are coming from. They must be from those "chosen" parents. My experience has not been so great. The teacher to student ratio average is 25 students to 1 teacher (that is what I have been told by the principal on several occasions as an excuse to why the teacher didn't have time for my child) and it shows. They are more worried about cramming as much in a school day as possible and if the child is not understanding or struggles with what is tought, a portion of the child's recess is held as punishment so that he can finish what the teacher didn't have time for in class to explain. A child with special needs like mine requires accommodation however, was told that they couldn't work with me because any accommodation that would be suggested was already being implemented with all students. I find that hard to believe considering they didn't even attempt to ask what the acccomodations were. I feel like this schools rating may be falsely credited with only the select few people willing to credit them and may not be from parents whose children CURRENTLY attend this school. My child has gone here for the last 2 years and it is truley a struggle. Since they were made aware of my child's needs their attitudes changed. My suggestion to anyone who may be looking at sending your child to this school is to do some research. I believe you will find more unsatisfied parents. I found several parents that had the same complaints mostly through talking to other parents through my child's team sports meets only after registering my child to this school. Please do your research before choosing this school, your child will thank you for it.

Forrest Elementary is a fantastic school. The principle, teachers, and staff truly care about the children. My kids love this school. They really promote a growth mindset, they believe intellect can be matured and developed – that you will keep learning and growing for the entirety of life. This is one of the most important values for students to learn, in my opinion. They do their best to teach them to never give up and to always keep growing. This school also promotes strong family values and encourages caregivers to be involved. I have often volunteered there, with my three year old daughter in tow. The kids love seeing my little one and the teachers enjoy having her visit, at appropriate times, as well. There are opportunities for learning leadership roles, many after school programs, and a love of learning at this school. I highly recommend this place.

Forest is an Excellent school! I have had personal experience with the principal and teachers for the past 10 years as my children have gone through the elementary. The teachers and staff are great. Students have a lot of interaction and opportunities; there are multiple programs and ways to participate in clubs both before and after school. I have had a lot of personal contact with the staff at Forest being an active parent volunteer helping in the classroom and being very involved with the PTO for the past 9 years. I highly recommend the teachers, principal, staff and the school.
