Northridge Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

I feel this school has much to learn about special needs children and thier special needs. The system should be working with the parents not working against the parents. I feel the children and parents who are not as well to do as others are often targeted by the school for unjust cause. That is my humble opinion. I will say that my grand childs I. E. P. has improved drastically. We will continue to help her at home with spelling and math.

The staff at Northridge Elementary School is to be commended. Not only do they care about the success of my children, they go out of their way to get to know them and really care about them. The students and staff are at a disservice with the limited buildings they have to work in. Old technology, broken tiles, lack of classroom space are just a couple of the problems this school faces due to lack of funds. New schools and new technology could enhance the student's learning environment and increase Ohio Achievement Assessment Scores.

I am a graduate of the Northeastern Local Schools and now my daughter is a fifth grader in Northridge Elementary School. Some of same problems exist now as they did approximately 30 years ago when I attended. The classrooms are overcrowded, the school is in need of regularly scheduled maintanence (hence the problems with the boiler two weeks ago!) and community members are always reluctant to pass levies to financially support the schools. I believe that parental involvement in this school district is high and that most parents of children that attend here are very concerned about their children's academic success. Because of the large class sizes, I believe that students will receive less personalized attention particularly if they are identified as gifted in academics or the arts. The community is very supportive of the extracurricular activities that are available for the students in this district.
