There is far too much emphasis and expenditure on sports and the jock culture, but that's true in a lot of area schools. There's also a palpably snooty vibe that one has to have money and wear the right clothes. That attitude is much more prevalent here than say, Perkins or Norwalk or other area schools.

Edison High School is alright. The teachers, custodians, and councelors are great. The principal however is not. He does not take action when it is needed. Bullying is not taken care of at all. I was bullied for weeks, my parents and myself went to the principal almost every day. It was not taken care of therefore a fight happened. High school is cruel and when nobody takes care of issues, the problem will never be fixed. I think a new principal is needed. All of this is why I left my Junior year to attend EHOVE CAREER CENTER. I still participated in activities at Edison but not many. If you are a family with alot of money and are involved in sports, you will fit in at Edison.

I'm writing as a former Edison student. Like many high school students, I hated school and thus hated Edison. Having been out in the world for a while now, I've realized that this school has provided me with an education unmatched by many other public schools. Many of the teachers (not all) have a great passion for teaching, and will go to great lengths to ensure their students' success. Many of my peers do not seem to have been challenged the way I was, and seem to have lacked some of the opportunities I was offered. The school devotes a lot of resources to both sports and academic clubs. The teachers and guidance counselor are approachable and friendly. The principal is not, but he has his own way of doing things. That being said, this is a small school in a small town. It's not very diverse and it isn't free of some of those small-town stereotypes. If you can past that (and you should), this is a great choice for a public school. You really can't do better in north central Ohio. I almost forgot- if your child is troubled, don't come here. They have a low tolerance for troublemakers and you won't get any support.

Edison is alright. I mean its not exactly home sweet home when you move but the students seem nice and you are accepted quickly and most of the teachers are nice. The custodians and the counslers are nice too. They make you feel welcomed when your feel outta place. They are an alright school which should mean a lot coming from somebody whp fully hates school with every fiber of her being. -Current new student

I am a previous student of this school. The teachers are always top notch, and seem to have a real passion for teaching. The courses offered are comparable to most other schools. Safety was never an issue at school. I really have only two complaints about this school. First is the current principal. The second is simply that for the huge amount of money the school takes in from taxes, it seems to spend very little on academic resources and opportunities for its students. Perhaps they should consider spending a little less on the football team, and concentrate on what school is really about.... learning.' - R C
