Bellflower Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

My three daughters have gone to this school and I have found the teachers and staff to be extremely helpful and kind. The principal was very present in all the activities as well. There were lots of extracurricular activities that my children could do. I can't say enough about the PTA either. They were always thinking of great, fun, and academic activities to do for the students.

Our grandson was not doing well in Kindergarten at Bellflower. The staff recommened he be held back. We did not believe that this was an appropriate conclusion. We transferred him to Fairfax and he's adapting really well to 1st grade. If your child is struggling academically, you may want to consider transferring out of Bellflower. Otherwise, it's a decent school.

I think there is a lack of communciation from the staff at Bellflower. We get a notice in the mail that bus schedules will be sent and then no bus schedules. I get tons of papers sent to my home before school and no notice of who my childrens teachers are going to be. No open house before school starts so the my children can locate their classroom, so when they get to school that very first day they won't be lost. I also have papers sent home with no instructions/directions on what to do with them. I think that the teachers are very caring, I just wish there was better/more communication.

Top notch staff. Principal and teachers genuinely care about the students. Academics are clearly the top priority, and students are in a very supportive, safe environment too. The staff takes children's safety and well being very seriously and any disruptive or bullying behavior is simply not tolerated. Everything centers around creating a positive, productive environment for learning, and it really shows. Lots of school pride, too. Very happy my children go to Bellflower.

Outstanding school. Very pleased with teachers and administration, all are committed to excellence, from academics to social and interpersonal development of the students. Mentor School District is a very strong school system, this just might be the best school in the district.
